Amazon is launching its ‘Alexa, thank my driver’ program amid Alexa-focused job cuts

Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, has introduced a new program that lets consumers thank their delivery drivers using Alexa. The first million drivers who receive thanks will earn $5 as a thank you.

Any time a consumer requests, "Alexa, thank my driver," the person who just delivered their goods will be informed of the gratitude and given an extra $5, all free of charge to the customer.

During the promotional period, the top five drivers will also each receive $10,000 in addition to another $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice.

Customers in the US can use this new tool to thank drivers in the US from anywhere, not just by using Alexa, but also by using an Alexa-compatible device or Amazon Shopping mobile applications.

An Amazon spokesperson said: “We love hearing the countless stories from customers about the many ways delivery drivers make their lives better.

“We are excited for this new opportunity to thank these everyday heroes and giving our customers the ability to help us do it.”
