Zulily confirms 504 job cuts at Bethlehem warehouse

Zulily, the Seattle-based e-commerce retailer, has announced 504 job cuts as it closes its Bethlehem warehouse.

The layoffs will start in the middle of May, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry has confirmed

The second phase is about to happen within two to eight weeks, while the final cuts before the end of this year.

The company said: "We will be closing our Zulily Bethlehem Fulfillment Center as part of our ongoing evaluation of our fulfillment network's footprint and current and projected needs." 

An announcement was made the previous week stating the company's Emery Street warehouse will also be closed by year-end.Qurate Retail, an American media conglomerate owns the company along with other brands like QVC and HSN. 

Zulily said this will help job seekers as they can also find new jobs at QVC and HSN.

The company moved to Bethlehem in 2014, which promised 1,000 new jobs for the area.

The state funds supported its move to the Lehigh Valley while the state and local officials highly praised it.
