Elon Musk informs Twitter employees that no more layoffs are planned

Elon Musk has wrapped up Twitter layoffs and has no plans to move the San Fransico headquarters, it has been revealed.

During an all-hands meeting at Twitter's headquarters on Monday, November 21, Musk shared some good news with the firm's remaining workforce after weeks of job cuts and chaos.

This is Musk's second such meeting since last week when he informed employees that the social media giant's insolvency was a possibility.

During the meeting, Musk spoke of his "extremely hardcore" work expectations.

But the new Twitter boss also said no further firings are "planned."

For the first time since his $44 billion takeover, Musk indicated the company's rounds of layoffs are done since taking charge at the end of October.

Prior to Musk's takeover, Twitter had around 7,500 employees.

A source with knowledge of the company's operations said the number is now reduced to 2,300 after a major layoff and a mass resignation.

Another source said the official headcount may continue to fluctuate as resignations are processed internally.

Staff cuts and resignations have had a huge impact on Twitter's engineering ranks.

A current employee estimates nearly 50 percent of engineering roles are removed.

Musk made an urgent request for "anyone" remaining at Twitter who can write software to meet with him.

Engineers who are still working for the firm are reaching out to employees who were fired or resigned.

A source said they are asked if they want to return back since some teams are understaffed.

During the meeting, Musk also said that he "does not intend" to relocate Twitter's headquarters from San Francisco to Texas.

Since Musk's other firms, like Tesla and SpaceX, have shifted operations there.

Twitter staff were also told stock grants will be included in their future pay plans under Musk.

They will be provided and paid out in the same way as they are with SpaceX workers.

Although the corporation is private, workers can sell stock grants through private tender offers.
