Infosys is mandating a three-day office work policy as co-founder NR Narayana Murthy's pushes for more productivity.
The tech outsourcing giant plans to formalise this requirement after employees had largely ignored previous requests.
Infosys told its employees through a mail which read: "Please start coming to the office at least 3 days a week.
“It will become mandatory very shortly."

Sources said an email expressed disappointment over the inadequate response to previous requests.
It said the three-year work-from-home arrangement due to the pandemic has lasted long enough.
Employees are expected to resume working from the office unless there are medical reasons.
The management was disappointed with certain empty delivery units (DUs) and urged immediate attendance at the offshore development centres (ODCs) for clients.
However, exceptions for health-related issues will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Wipro, another prominent IT company, has also warned about the "consequences" of defying its hybrid work policy.
It requires employees to be present in the office three days a week, effective January 7.
Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest software services firm, is also moving towards a return to normal office routines.
Infosys informed its employees of new charges for services.
Starting January 3, a fee of ₹150 per day for bus services, with a monthly cap of ₹1,500, will be implemented.

Similarly, the company will charge ₹100 per day for health club facilities, capped at ₹700 per month from January 1.
Before the pandemic, eligible Infosys employees could work from home nine days a month.
If the new policy is enforced, the attendance system will revert to the pre-pandemic norm.
Infosys had previously encouraged employees to return to the office, offering free services to facilitate the transition.
NR Narayana Murthy recently reiterated the need for a 70-hour workweek to boost productivity and India's competitiveness.
