IT Sector Jobs Surge Across Major Tech Hubs In India

A new report says the information technology sector saw a notable rise in job opportunities across major tech hubs from April 2023 to April 2024.

Data from the job matching and hiring platform Indeed indicates a 41.5 percent increase in IT job postings in Hyderabad and a 24 percent rise in Bengaluru.

It underscores the growing significance of these cities for IT professionals.

Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, said: “Software and IT positions are in high demand, not only among those currently employed in the industry but also among individuals seeking new career opportunities.

“Despite recent layoffs, the attractiveness of IT jobs has increased.

This heightened interest can be attributed to the specialized skills, training, and experience required for these roles.”

Kumar advised job seekers to focus on developing skills to help them stand out in a competitive job market.

A recent report by Indeed revealed that about 54 percent of employees in India expect major changes in their roles over the next five years.

Around 95 percent expressed confidence in their ability to adapt to these changes.
