Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola, has endorsed Infosys founder Narayana Murthy’s call for a 70-hour workweek for young professionals.
In a podcast interview with ANI, Aggarwal highlighted his agreement with Murthy’s vision, referencing his impactful return to Infosys in 2013.
Aggarwal said: “I’m fully in sync with his direction to the youth.
“He had to come back because of the state his company was in, and his contribution post-return was significant.
“Even Nandan [Nilekani] returned in a non-executive role and continued to make valuable contributions.”
Nandan Nilekani, co-founder and non-executive Chairman of Infosys, is credited with leading the Aadhaar initiative in India.
Aggarwal also spoke about his admiration for Steve Jobs, calling him a foundational influence.
He said: “I was and am a Steve Jobs fan,” he said.
“I use all Apple products and genuinely believe that they are very well engineered and designed products.”

During the interview, Aggarwal addressed broader issues affecting India’s tech ecosystem, particularly “techno-colonialism.”
He expressed concerns about India’s data being exported to global data centers for processing and then sold back to India in foreign currency.
Aggarwal said: “India’s data is exported, processed abroad, and then sold back to us.”
He used the term “techno-colonialism” to describe this complex issue.
