Ted Baker is to exit British high streets as the fashion chain plans to shut all of its UK stores within the next few weeks.

Its UK retail arm, No Ordinary Designer Label Limited (NODL), entered administration in March and has since closed 15 stores, resulting in around 245 job losses.

Employees at the remaining stores have been notified of impending closures, with the final shutdown expected within three weeks.

Despite this notice, the plans are still subject to finalization.

Before entering insolvency, Ted Baker operated 46 stores in the UK and employed about 975 people.

Authentic Brands, a US-based firm known for brands like Juicy Couture and Reebok, owns the brand’s intellectual property.

Authentic Brands had been seeking a new partner to manage Ted Baker’s retail and online business in the UK and Europe.

The closure of these stores could end Ted Baker’s physical presence on British high streets.

The company was founded in 1988 by Ray Kelvin and became known for its distinctive patterned and floral clothing.

Despite the store closures, Ted Baker products will remain available through department stores and retailers such as John Lewis and House of Fraser.
