HelloFresh Creates 300 Jobs With Derby Warehouse Launch

HelloFresh has opened its largest European distribution centre, The Windmill, in Derby, which has already generated 300 jobs.

The automated production facility created roles for the local community, including production operatives, maintenance engineers, and management, and further openings are expected.

Developed in collaboration with the low-carbon food manufacturing campus SmartParc SEGRO Derby, The Windmill is praised as one of the UK's most sustainable production facilities.

It features several eco-friendly features like rainwater harvesting, solar panels, and shared heating and cooling systems.

It aligns with broader environmental goals.

The facility also prioritises employee convenience and sustainability, offering electric vehicle charging stations, secure bike storage, and a local bus service timed to match production shifts, enhancing accessibility for its workforce.

“Derby’s great connectivity also means we can provide an even better delivery experience for our UK customers with 80% of customers now being within a four-hour drive of where the product is made.
