Primark Boosts UK Store Staff Wages By 9.1 Percent

Primark Retail Shop

Primark has announced a 9.1 percent pay raise for thousands of its workers, effective from April 1.

The company said its retail assistants in London will earn £12.56 per hour, and those in England, Scotland, and Wales will receive £12.

This decision comes after eliminating age-related pay differences for those under 23 last year.

The retailer’s 27,000 store staff will be included in the pay bump.

Primark UK retail director Kari Rodgers said: “Our colleagues do a brilliant job every day serving our customers and we want everyone to be fairly rewarded and recognised for their hard work.

“We hope this pay increase goes some way towards demonstrating our continued thanks for all that they do in our stores and for our customers.”
