Delta Air Lines Offers A Second 5 Percent Pay Raise

Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines is raising staff wages by five percent to prepare for the expected surge in summer travel.

This marks another pay increase for the airline's workforce.

Starting on June 1, the pay bump will benefit various staff members, including flight attendants, ground handlers, mechanics, and certain office personnel.

However, the increase does not extend to pilots.

Pilots are covered under a separate union contract that secured big raises last year following wage stagnation during the pandemic.

This latest move follows a similar five percent pay increase last year and is the third hike announced by the Atlanta-based airline since 2022.

As a result of the new policy, starting hourly wages at Delta will climb to $19, up from $16.55.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian said: “With this increase in base pay and starting rates, we continue our commitment to provide Delta people with industry-leading total compensation for industry-leading performance.”
