**Job Summary:**

The **Medical Director- National Accounts** is responsible for serving as the Operational Medical Director for our care management models for our National Account clients. + Must possess an active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.
+ Unless expressly allowed by state or federal law, or regulation, must be located in a state or territory of the United States when conducting utilization review or an appeals consideration and cannot be located on a US military base, vessel or any embassy located in or outside of the US.
+ Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
+ For Health Solutions and Carelon organizations (including behavioral health) only, minimum of 5 years of experience providing health care is required. Additional experience may be required by State contracts or regulations if the Medical Director is filing a role required by a state agency.
**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Lead the development and implementation of strategy for a significant area of responsibility, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy.
+ Develop the strategy for a significant area of responsibility, such as a function, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets medium-term business needs.
+ Develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for a function or substantial business area, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes, i.e., revenues or other key performance indicators (KPIs); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration.
+ Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
+ Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.
**Qualifications/Skills:**
+ More than ten (10) years of relevant experience including management or leadership experience is highly preferred.
+ Financial services experience is highly preferred.
+ Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
+ Operates as a recognized expert to shift into and out of a mental mindset associated with assessing the facts and circumstances of the current situation and/or environment and making the appropriate/innovative adjustments to thinking and work habits to thrive in any scenario. Typically known as a subject matter authority.
+ Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on strategic planning.
+ Applies expertise to act as the organizational authority on making sure the organization develops and maintains the culture, values and design it needs to reach its objectives while managing structural change.
+ Uses expertise to act as the organizational authority on managing projects and/or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters.
+ Uses expertise to act as the organizational authority on communicating with other people by speaking in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
+ Creates/maintains a competitive organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent to ensure people with the right skills & motivations are in the right place at the right time to meet business needs.
+ Review and evaluate recommendations and requirements and to develop appropriate plans or deliver actions required.
