Shop Supervisor
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Supervisor to join our team. Duties include PMs and preparing buses for DOT inspections. Directly supervises the mechanics, service employees and other maintenance personnel, monitors outside contract laborers; schedules the repairs and maintenance of a wide variety of diesel-powered equipment; ensures an environment that meets safety and regulatory requirements and monitors all daily contractual maintenance obligations.

Shifts Available:
+ 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
+ 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Essential Job Functions:
+ Duties include PMs and preparing buses for DOT inspections.
+ Supervises mechanics, investigates, provides information, and makes / administers decisions concerning employee discipline.
+ Daily review of the subsequent follow-up on all abnormal issues.
+ Evaluates the performance of both new and current employees.
+ Facilitates and schedules training of both new and current employees.
+ Works with Human Resources by participating in interview panels for maintenance positions.
+ Monitors the budget at a sectional level.
+ Assisting with scheduling outside contract labor for special projects and monitoring the laborers' performance.
+ Conducts daily safety/shift turnover meetings with both mechanics and supervisors on duty.
+ Works with facility maintenance to communicate issues relevant to a safe and pleasant work environment.
+ Schedules major and minor repairs.
+ Creates work orders for repairs to coaches, reviews past work orders for repairs to coaches, and reviews and closes current work orders.
+ Assigns work to mechanics based on the work required and the mechanic's qualifications.
+ Makes on-the-spot decisions regarding repairs and, at times, makes on-the-spot repairs when necessary.
+ Communicates with mechanics on diagnosis and procedures for repair and assists with technical questions.
+ Monitors tracking sheets generated by management to ensure repairs are completed promptly.
+ Monitors the work of both internal employees and vendors for quality and quantity.
+ Works with Parts personnel to obtain the correct replacement parts.
+ Decide which coaches to pull/swap out and relay this information to operations at least 8 hours before.
+ Lists and schedules coaches for PMI's and other work and communicates this information with operations.
+ Performs other tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Requires five (5) years of progressive mechanical experience to include hands-on diesel mechanic experience, of which a minimum of 2 years must be in a supervisory or lead role.
+ An associate degree in management, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field is preferred, but not required or an amount of experience equivalent to an associate degree.
+ High School Diploma or GED and valid Arizona driver's license and the ability to obtain a CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement required.
+ Must have forklift certification.
+ Ability to obtain ASE Master Transit Bus Certification
+ Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
+ Must be able to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize and deal with time pressures and be able to clearly communicate verbally and in written form.
+ Must have a current working knowledge of all mechanical systems related to heavy-duty transportation vehicles, including transmissions, engines, brakes, and climate control units.
+ Must have strong organization and have basic math skills for tracking trends and for report writing.
+ This ability to handle crisis/conflict is required.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

+ Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions.

Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising mechanics performance, planning and assigning work for employees to maximize labor utilization and employee technical competencies, monitoring productivity, ensuring quality and quantity of work output, and the efficiency of the department.

DUTIES:
* Supervise mechanics, investigates issues and problems, provides information concerning employee performance.
* Works closely with Maintenance Manager to monitor productivity and perform required quality audits on work performed on assigned shift.
* Provides feedback to the Maintenance Manager on employee performance and technical training needs.
* Assists with monitoring and meeting standards/goals of analytical targets to name a few: Mean Distance Between Failures, Cost Per Mile, Financial performance and PM Compliance.
* Plans and assigns work for employees to maximize labor utilization and employee technical competencies
* Consults with mechanics on diagnosis and procedures for repair and assists with technical questions.
* Ensures proper utilization of maintenance software or client software by all assigned personnel.
* Ensures completion of all maintenance software or client software supervisory activity by the end of assigned shift.
* Keeps facility/grounds clean and ensure that all personnel work in a safe manner.
* Ensure compliance with all shift and shop reporting requirements.
* Supervises shop operations to support service requirements.
* Works with Maintenance Manager to determine the root cause for poor labor utilization, rework and service interruptions.
* Ensures that work orders for repairs to vehicles are performed, reviews past work orders for repairs to vehicles, and assists Maintenance Manager in the review and closure of current work orders.
* Oversee inspections, complete vehicle safety assessments and inspections to ensure vehicles are safe to operate and meet all requirements.
* Works with parts personnel to obtain the correct replacement parts.
* Assists Maintenance Manager with the listing and scheduling of vehicles for preventative maintenance.
* Monitors the status of down/out-of-service equipment and issues a daily report.
* Has moderate contact with others outside vendors regarding the repair/maintenance of the vehicles.
* Other duties as assigned for the safe and efficient operation of the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma. College degree or some college preferred.
* 3+ years diesel/heavy duty technical experience.
* 3 years supervisor experience overseeing employees on multiple shifts.
* Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair the most difficult of all vehicle and equipment service.
* Must possess 609 and 608 air conditioning certificates and at least five H or T series ASE certifications of which two must consist of T6, T7, H6 or H7.
* Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal, and written skills a must.
* Must have a valid CDL license.
* Octagon experience a plus.
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Must be detailed orientated, well organized, and possess effective time management skills.
* Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information/situations.
* Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.

Shop Supervisor
Transdev is hiring a Shop Supervisor in Augusta, GA. The Shop Supervisor oversees fleet maintenance operations and performs hands-on vehicle repairs. This role combines leadership and technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance of all fleet equipment. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Supervise maintenance operations by planning, distributing, and delegating work assignments while monitoring performance and quality.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians, supporting skill development and adherence to safety and quality standards.
+ Communicate vehicle availability and maintenance updates with dispatch, maintenance managers, and other operations staff.
+ Ensure compliance with all State, Federal, and Company regulations related to fleet operations and maintenance.
+ Review and approve repair orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and cost-effectiveness.
+ Order and manage parts, fuel, and subcontracted repair services as needed.
+ Coordinate facility services, including building and grounds maintenance.
+ Work closely with the Location Manager to monitor maintenance budgets and operational performance.
+ Identify and recommend process improvements to increase operational efficiency and service quality.
+ Complete assigned special projects and contribute to a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience preferred.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Valid driver's license
+ Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
