**The position will be in Edwards AFB.**
+ The candidate will develop and publish Integrated Test Plans, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing.
+ Provide laboratory support for integration testing.
+ Support and host test planning working groups.
+ Interface with test article design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements.
+ Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
+ Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
+ Support test card development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel.
+ Support test readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings.
+ Conduct and contributes to pre and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution. Maintains metrics on status of testing and constraints.
+ This position requires outstanding written and oral communications skills. Individual will be required to serve as a principal subject matter focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and test site team - contractor and customer.
+ Individual must be able to work under only general direction to determine and develop approaches to solutions; must be able to work both within a team environment and independently; must be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed; and must be willing to learn additional engineering discipline areas.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS)
+ Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required.
**Basic Qualifications for Principal Flight Test Engineer:**
+ Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience , OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience
+ Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Principal / Flight Avionics Electronics Engineer to join the team of qualified individuals on our Avionics Organization. This position is located onsite in Melbourne, Florida.
The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the program. This person will serve as a junior engineer, supporting Avionics Integration of Aircraft flight deck Systems and will be responsible for one or more of the following:
+ Provide Avionics Integration engineering support for the integration of aircraft flight deck systems and components including Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), Radio Altimeter, Primary Flight Displays (PFDs), Terrain Avoidance and Warning Systems (TAWS), and other various avionics systems
+ Provide support for the development of system safety documents
+ Create aircraft system schematics to support air vehicle wiring diagrams
+ Development and analysis of requirements and supporting trade studies
+ Manage suppliers, review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration, and support test execution
+ Support informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab
+ Supporting flight test activities and post flight data analysis, and resolution of flight test anomalies
+ A successful Flight Avionics Engineer has good communication skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams. This individual consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks, and holds themselves to a high level of technical rigor
**Basic Qualifications:**
**Flight Avionics Engineer Level 2:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM field with 0+ years of relevant experience is required
+ Must have Cameo or Doors or similar product experience
+ Must have an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance level is required with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
**Flight Avionics Engineer Level 3:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
+ Must have Cameo or Doors or similar product experience
+ Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429 and Ethernet communication protocols
+ Must have an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance level is required with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Confluence and Jira Experience
+ Experience with Avionics systems
+ Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
+ Experience with Supplier Management of avionics equipment
+ Experience with at least one of the flight certification standards listed in the preferred qualifications (PBN, RNAV, RNP, CNS/ATM, DO-178/254/200/160)
+ Performance Based Navigation (PBN) experience and attaining PBN certification
+ Required Navigation Performance (RNP)/ Area Navigation (RNAV) certification experience
+ Experience designing to RTCA DO-178 software standard for RNP RNAV certification
+ Experience designing to RTCA DO-254 hardware standard for airborne electronic systems
+ Experience designing to RTCA DO-200 standard for processing aeronautical data
+ Experience designing to RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 standards for environmental qualifications
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
