Grossing Technician performs accessioning and gross examination of lower complexity surgical specimens under the direction of a Pathologist and/or Pathologists' Assistant. This role is responsible for proper specimen identification, description, dissection, and submission to ensure high-quality tissue preparation for diagnostic evaluation. The position operates within CLIA-88 high complexity testing personnel guidelines and supports efficient laboratory workflow and compliance.

**Role and Responsibilities**
+ Label, receive, and process samples (blood, urine, tissue, stool, etc.) for clinical trials per specific protocol guidelines to include logging samples into and out of the department.
+ Request and receive tissue samples from outside pathology facilities.
+ Send tissue blocks to vendor to have slides cut and ship these slides to the study's lab.
+ Label, receive, and process samples (blood, urine, tissue etc.) for clinical trials per specific protocol guidelines to include logging samples into and out of the department.
+ Record all data in specified forms per clinical trial (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
+ Enter data into departmental database.
+ Recognize discrepancies in the data on the samples and coordinate with the clinical staff to correct.
+ Organize and store all reagents according to safety instructions.
+ Maintain equipment and a clean and orderly lab environment.
+ Restock lab consumables at the end of the day.
+ Manage inventory of clinical trial supplies and kits as well as departmental supplies.
+ Administrative functions include filing, scanning, copying, and emailing of work documents.
+ Ship or store samples as per protocol before the end of the shift.
+ Prepare all collection tubes and aliquots for the next day's clinic with accuracy and responsibility.

The **Leidos Cargo Mission Contract (CMC)** has an exciting opportunity for an **Entry-Level Decal Lab Technician** to join our team in Webster, Texas. In this role, you will apply your fabrication and graphic design skills to support NASA's human spaceflight missions. Working alongside engineering and cargo teams, you will manufacture decals, labels, placards, and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) products used on flight hardware supporting the International Space Station (ISS) and future Exploration programs.
This position offers hands-on experience with fabrication equipment, printing technologies, CNC cutting systems, and industry-standard graphic design software while contributing to mission-critical hardware.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required. This position requires the ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
Support the CMC Decal Operations team by fabricating decals, labels, placards, RFID tags, and related products for NASA flight hardware, engineering mockups, trainers, and other mission support activities.
Responsibilities include:
+ Design and prepare artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, NiceLabel Designer, and Zebra Designer software.
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings, eLabel orders, and fabrication documentation to produce compliant decal, label, placard, RFID, and graphic products.
+ Manufacture decal products using a variety of production equipment, fabrication processes, and materials from concept through final production.
+ Perform quality inspections of artwork and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.

+ Strong understanding of laboratory chemistry principles and analytical techniques.
+ Proficiency in following and applying standard operating procedures (SOPs), approved test methods, and safety guidelines.
+ Ability to accurately record, analyze, and interpret analytical data while ensuring completeness and traceability.
+ Experience with data entry and data analysis in a laboratory setting, including use of laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
+ Verbal and written communication skills to effectively report results and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and sales teams.
+ High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing anomalies in testing results and instrumentation.
+ Ability to work independently while also supporting and assisting other analytical subject matter experts.
+ Ability to document and maintain clear, well-organized records, reports, and data summaries in compliance with laboratory standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry preferred.
+ Combination of relevant education and approximately 5 years of related laboratory experience may be considered in place of a degree.
+ Knowledge of hydrocarbon testing methods and handling hydrocarbon- and water-based samples.
+ Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and compliance requirements.
+ Ability to learn new analytical methods and adapt to updated procedures and instrumentation.
Work Environment
This role is based in a laboratory environment focused on analytical testing of hydrocarbon- and water-based samples. The Lab Technician II works with a variety of analytical instruments and equipment, follows established SOPs and safety protocols, and uses laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for data entry and management. The work requires careful attention to detail, adherence to quality and housekeeping practices, and consistent compliance with safety guidelines to maintain an organized, efficient, and reliable testing facility.
