Job Description
Looking for a Self Motivated Lighting Design Analyst
- This position is responsible for the daily tasks of engineering, designing and estimating outdoor lighting systems according to NESC specifications.
- The successful candidate must be able to manage several projects at the same time, to include residential, commercial, and industrial outdoor lighting customers.
- The candidate must also be able to correctly engineered job packages, stake job sites, communicate effectively with internal and external customers all in a timely manner. The candidate will need to assist with scheduling meetings in order to insure all committed service dates are met.
- This individual must be able to use the following technical applications (JETS, Socket, GIS/Designer, and Distview) for engineering, designing and estimating jobs.
Education & Job Experience:
- High School diploma required
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of region distribution engineering or lighting engineering experience preferred
- Knowledge of electric distribution system and related software preferred (JETS, Socket, Distview, GIS, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of electrical distribution system
- Knowledge of engineering and construction principles
- Knowledge of NESC underground and overhead construction practices
- Knowledge of outdoor lighting designs, products, and engineering

Job Responsibilities:
- Engineer jobs and prepare job packages in a timely manner
- Estimate job cost, order material, and bill the customer using JETS and/or GIS/Designer
- Verify voltage drop, ampere rating of wire and fuse sizes
- Obtain all necessary required permits for projects (DOT, StormWater, etc.)
- Visit job sites to determine if any dangerous/hazardous conditionsexist before any work installation begins and share this information withconstruction team
- Stake job sites for accurate installation of conductor and poles
- Make sure each project is completed by promised commitment date
- Verify all construction unit sheets are correct upon completion of projectand reconcile all material, labor, and any other necessary charges associated with job
- Close jobs in a timely manner to meet monthly compliancerequirements
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with internal team(sales rep, coordinator, billing, leadership team)

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-voltage commercial sports lighting systems in stadiums, arenas, and large-scale outdoor venues.
- Work at heights of up to 200 feet, ensuring safety and precision in all installations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics for complex lighting systems.
- Lead and train electrical crews on proper installation techniques, safety procedures, and system operations.
- Travel extensively (75% throughout the U.S. and all over Utah) to complete installations, maintenance, and service calls.
- Work 40+ hours per week, with flexibility for evening and weekend project schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure projects meet client specifications and deadlines.
- Stay up to date on industry advancements, manufacturer certifications, and safety standards (OSHA, Fall Protection, Lifts, etc.).
Qualifications :
- Must hold a valid Utah Master Electrician license (or be eligible for reciprocity).
- Experience in commercial electrical work, preferably in stadium or large-scale sports lighting.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 200 feet, with knowledge of fall protection and aerial lift operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues on-site.
- Willingness to travel extensively (75% nationwide and throughout Utah).
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed for project completion.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading electrical crews on commercial projects.

We are seeking a Lighting Artist who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, and passion for great storytelling that defines ILM.
The Lighting Artist is responsible for bringing the best out of our environments and combining artistic talent and technical ability. You will work closely with the Department Supervisor of Lighting and development/production teams on design and implementation of lighting setups and pipelines.
What You’ll Do- Work with Art Directors, Lighting Leads, and concept artwork to design lighting setups for environments, characters, and interactive game assets.
- Have deep understanding of lightmap baking, dynamic lighting tools, image-based specular lighting, indirect light probes, post-process volumes, and real-time rendering.
- Collaborate with environment, character, and VFX artists to achieve desired aesthetics and performance through material shader and geometry work.
- Partner with level designers to animate dynamic lighting or transitions via level blueprint or sequencer.
- Actively participate in improving workflows, optimizations, and best practices.
- Identify, triage, and fix bugs working with engineering and relevant departments.
- Take final projects to a high degree of polish and optimization.
- 5+ years experience as a Lighting TD/Artist in AAA game development or animation/vfx/film.
- Strong aesthetic sense for lighting and color theory.
- Strong technical knowledge of current real-time lighting toolsets, including atmospheric effects, post-processing, color grading, and HDR IBL workflows.
- Able to effectively take direction and know what looks good and why.
- Experience with Unreal/Unity or equivalent game engine, including dynamic and baked lighting workflows, physically-based rendering, and basic level blueprint scripting.
- Shaders: in-depth knowledge of real-time shader implementations, limitations in VR, knowledge of PBR pipelines, and subsurface shaders.
- Materials: experienced in the development, authoring, and organization of efficient materials via the UE4 material editor.
- Fluency in Windows, JIRA, Perforce or equivalent OS, workload and data management tools.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and self-motivated.
- Bonus points for:
- Strong traditional art, photography, or film studies background.
- Proficiency with profiling tools for diagnosing performance issues related to lighting.
- Experience with one or more of: Maya, Unity, Substance Designer/Painter, Zbrush or Mudbox, Houdini, Mari, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Nuke.
- Interest and capacity to work with proprietary toolsets.
The hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $103,812 to $132,930 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
