Summary:

The Public Information Act Assistant/Legal Secretary works in a fast-paced environment under the direction of the attorneys and paralegal and assists in performing administrative tasks that are specific to the Texas Public Information Act, as well as standard administrative duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with Texas Public Information Act Requests (PIRs) for municipal clients by:
• coordinating with city staff to timely obtain responsive information
• calendaring deadlines pursuant to the Act
• redacting confidential information from documents and body worn and dash camera footage
• drafting correspondence to requestors

Qualifications

• A full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university

An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $350,000 - $400,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.
