Your Role
You will play a key role in the design and delivery of multifamily projects, contributing to and helping lead design efforts from early concept through construction. Working within Stantec's integrated architecture and interiors practice, you will collaborate across disciplines while maintaining a strong design voice and an active presence with clients.
We are seeking an interior designer with strong architectural understanding and a holistic approach to residential design, someone who is comfortable thinking across interiors, building design, detailing, and helping form the overall design vision.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a design leadership capacity while remaining engaged in the technical and collaborative realities of project delivery. Candidates should balance strong design thinking with an understanding of constructability, project budgets, operations, and the resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to design-driven multifamily projects, including building and unit types, common spaces, amenity areas, and residential interiors
- Participate in and help lead client meetings, presentations, and design workshops
- Develop clear design concepts supported by compelling graphics, drawings, and narratives
- Coordinate closely with project managers, architects, interior designers, and consultants to ensure design intent is carried through all project phases
- Support design quality, technical coordination, and documentation across SD, DD, and CD phases
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, studio-based culture
- Assist with business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and maintaining client relationships
Qualifications
- 10 years or more of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio of multifamily housing work
- Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design; architectural licensure or NCIDQ certification preferred
- Demonstrated design leadership and a strong aesthetic sensibility informed by constructability and market realities
- Experience working directly with clients, developers, and stakeholders
- Solid understanding of residential building systems, codes, and detailing (interiors and/or architectural)
- Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft PowerPoint required; visualization and 3D rendering skills preferred. Strong graphic presentation abilities are a plus.
- Experience seeing projects through multiple phases with increasing responsibility
- Portfolio submission required

**What will you be doing:**
The Facilities Planning, Design & Construction (FPD&C) Senior Interior Designer will manage all projects requiring interior design services on a prioritized basis under the direction of the Interior Design Manager, and input from Space Planners, Architects, and Project Managers. Projects may range from interior assessments to large capital projects. In the course of providing these services, the Senior Interior Designer will manage the interior design portion of the project from conception to completion, develop subsequent Construction-in-Progress applications; oversee procurement or movement of furnishings; track schedule, budget, and quality. The Senior Interior Designer will work in close coordination with the entire Project Delivery Team, including FPD&C architects, medical planners, project managers, signage and wayfinding, project coordinators, finance, and other CSHS stakeholders. The Senior Interior Designer will also work closely with and guide external consultants, architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
+ Develops and maintains interior design standards that set the quality of the spaces where Cedars-Sinai (CS) works and delivers care. Ensures that the interior spaces are in alignment with the level of quality set for the project.
+ Responsible for leading medium to large-scale projects and supporting mega -scale projects from conception to completion.
+ Prepares A&E and GC Request for Proposal (RFP) for consultants and contractors. Evaluates proposals and recommend design team members.
+ Mentors interior designers and provide guidance and oversight as needed.
+ Initiates Project Start-up that defines the scope, budget, schedule, and quality including project parameters, project approach, and identifying potential risks and issues.
+ Evaluates client/customer and associated space requirements and make appropriate design recommendations as needed.
+ Develops interior design recommendations including proposed color and material scheme, furniture layout, furniture selection, and scope of work for review and approval.
+ Creates Design Documentation for non-permitted and permitted projects including floor plans, elevations, section details, material specifications, equipment plans, furniture plans, and furniture specifications.
+ Provides input in the development of move plans, phasing, and space activation based on furniture reconfiguration, delivery, and space readiness.
+ Reviews consultant and vendor's design recommendation to ensure compliance with campus and system standards.
+ Fosters collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a cohesive design and seamless transition from design to construction.
+ Sets end-user expectations and maintain alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality at all times. Evaluate, analyze, and mitigate potential risks.

**Qualifications**
**Experience Requirements:**
Ten (10) plus years of experience in Commercial workplace and healthcare design projects.
Five (5) plus years of experience in Healthcare Interior Designer or Heathcare Project Management.

Role DescriptionThe Senior Interior Designer / Design Director is a full‑time, on‑site leadership position based in Atlanta. As a key member of our leadership team and the Principal’s second‑in‑command within the design studio, this individual will lead both our talented design staff and their own portfolio of projects from concept through final installation.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading by example as they are leading a team. They must be capable of independently executing sophisticated design solutions—including concept development, space planning, CAD documentation, 3D modeling, material selections, specifications, and presentations—while effectively mentoring, delegating to, and directing Associate Designers and Design Assistants.
Responsibilities include establishing the creative direction for luxury residential and boutique hospitality projects; reviewing and redlining construction documents; collaborating with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, artisans, and vendors; managing project schedules and budgets; and ensuring every project reflects Habachy Designs + Atelier’s uncompromising standards of service, craftsmanship, and design excellence.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished designer, confident decision‑maker, and inspiring leader with the ability to seamlessly transition between hands‑on project execution and studio leadership. They are passionate about mentoring others, fostering collaboration, and elevating both the quality of the work and the growth of the team.
Qualifications- Strong Interior Design and Space Planning skills, with the ability to develop functional and compelling layouts for diverse project types.
- High level and knowledge involving Interior Construction Drawings, including experience producing detailed plans, elevations, and specifications for implementation for high‑end projects.
- FF&E skills including sourcing, specifying, and coordinating furniture, fixtures, and equipment aligned with project concepts and budgets.
- Proficiency in industry‑standard design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and strong visual presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading interior design projects, managing client relationships, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Interior Design; professional licensure or certification (NCIDQ) is preferred.
- Experience in high‑end residential design is critical.

As the Senior Interior Designer, you will…
- Oversee the development of BIM/Revit design and documentation of drawings.
- Manage teams with an understanding and appreciation for the value of design.
- Oversee the teams' production and coordination of construction documents, including consultant coordination and the management of clients' goals, budget, and schedule. Provide training and mentorship to others.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the impact of building codes, agency, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Manage the Construction Administration process and bring a high level of value to clients.
- Oversee and coordinate project activities with clients, consultants, contractors, and staff, and provide coaching and mentorship to others.
- Participate in all phases of the design and project documentation process and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate consistent time management skills, ensuring accurate task completion on schedule and within budget while managing teams.
- Market new projects through established relationships and reputation, serve as a trusted advisor to multiple clients, and attend association/organization events related to the field.
- Demonstrate a detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive approach in overseeing teams' completion of work, ensuring accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Advise project leaders on client and consultant requested changes to the scope of work and assess the impact on project budget and schedule for multiple projects.
- Review and evaluate documents for accuracy with internal teams and external consultants, perform complete quality control reviews as needed, and lead integrated project reviews.
- Delegate tasks to staff, as well as coach and support staff's professional development.
- Coordinate with project leaders and assist teams to develop and implement action plans related to project management.
- Identify and address issues affecting project budget, construction costs, schedule, and risk management, ensuring the firm's interests are protected.
- Manage the financial aspects of projects, including the development and adherence to work plans, assist the Principal in Charge (PIC) with fee development, monitor project financial status, and manage monthly project financial tasks.
- Demonstrate strong proposal writing skills, coordinating with the PIC and/or Studio Leader for projects.
- Participate in market/studio leadership meetings and staffing processes.
Senior Interior Designer Qualifications – The Must-Haves (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years interior design experience; or an Associate's degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficient with BIM/Revit
- Programming experience
- Prior experience with Civic projects
- Proficiency with proposal writing
- Proficiency and comfort with client interface
Senior Interior Designer Qualifications – The Like-to-Haves (Not Required)
- LEED accreditation
- NCIDQ certification
Salary Range: $95,200 - $128,200 annually. Compensation and level DOE.
