Job Description
Our client, an educational organization, is seeking a Teaching Aid to join their team. As a Teaching Aid, you will be part of the educational support staff, helping young adults achieve their academic and social goals. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Teaching Aid
**Location:** South, Bronx, NY 10453
**Pay Range: $29- $30/hr**
**Shift:** Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (1 hour lunch)
**What's the Job?**
+ Accurately take and maintain attendance records for all students.
+ Oversee young adults in the classroom to ensure their safety and engagement during lessons and activities.
+ Assist students with limited English proficiency by providing clear translations and explanations of classroom materials and instructions.
+ Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans and support the class's educational goals.
+ Promote positive behavior among students and address any issues that arise in a constructive manner.
**What's Needed?**
+ Previous experience working with young adults in an educational or mentoring capacity.
+ Proficiency in English and at least one other language (preferably the language spoken by the students needing translation).
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
+ Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
+ Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
