Elon Musk vows to cover X users’ legal bills if mistreated at work

Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), has pledged to fund the legal expenses of users unfairly treated by their employers for their activity on the microblogging platform. 

Musk assured that the financial assistance provided by X would have "no limits".

He urged users to "let us know" if they faced unfair treatment for posting or liking posts on the network.

Formerly called Twitter, the company was rebranded as X late last month.

As a self-proclaimed "free speech absolutist," he has been vocal in criticizing the platform's content moderation policies before taking over. 

During his Twitter takeover announcement in April last year, Elon Musk said: "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated".

X has sued the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), an anti-hate group, after their research highlighted the spread of hate and disinformation on the platform under Musk's ownership. 

CCDH was accused of unlawful acts to gain improper access to X's data.
