The West Midlands is set for a tech job boom, with over 1,000 new opportunities expected to be generated in the next three years.
Five companies have announced plans to expand their operations in the region, with jobs mainly being created in tech-related fields.
Irish IT services provider Version 1 intends to scale up its Birmingham presence, with around 500 new jobs in the pipeline.

The company will establish a technology hub in the city center next year.
This will enhance its access to the local job market as well as its proximity to its client base.Â
Additionally, Version 1 are launching two new academies in Birmingham in the spring, complementing its existing office in Redditch.
Novocomms, a wireless communication specialist born out of the University of Birmingham, aims to create 300 new jobs in Birmingham over the next three years.

They will focus on establishing a new smart city services provider.
It will offer services across various ‘smart’ sectors, including cities, agriculture, ports, healthcare, and transportation.
Petalite, an electric vehicle charging company, intends to expand its Birmingham-based team.
Introducing 100 new roles in engineering and business operations by 2026.Â
This expansion will follow the completion of a funding round expected to conclude by the end of the year.

French IT management company Aubay is poised to grow its team by up to 100 people in Solihull.
The roles will range from development to project management and support the company in delivering services to clients in the banking, financial services, and energy sectors.
Primacy, a Singapore-based data compliance business, also plans to establish a center of excellence in Birmingham.
This centre will focus on environmental, social, and corporate governance and generate up to 30 jobs over the next two years.

The initiative will also involve the co-development of a youth education center.
The centre will train the next generation of environmental, social, and corporate governance professionals.
