The Hollywood film and television crew members union has secured a tentative three-year agreement with major studios, including Disney and Netflix.
The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), including lighting technicians and costume designers, will approve the deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
The deal ensures pay hikes and safeguards against using artificial intelligence in ways that could displace workers.
The agreement outlines scale-rate pay increases of seven percent, four percent, and 3.5 percent over the next three years.
The deal includes “language that ensures no employee is required to provide Al prompts in any manner that would result in the displacement of any covered employee.”
This deal follows a significant labor agreement reached in late 2023 between the SAG-AFTRA actors’ union and studios.
