Biden announces Siemens investment which will create 300 new jobs in California and Texas

Siemens

Joe Biden has announced a $54 million investment in the technology company Siemens USA, creating an additional 300 jobs in California and Texas.

Barbara Humpton, the CEO of Siemens USA has recently discussed the expansion plans with Biden to produce equipment for the electrical infrastructure.

Biden will announce details regarding a rule that the companies providing goods to the government have to make 75 percent of their product content domestically, from the previous level of 55 percent.

The President has been intending to increase more jobs in factories.

Biden said: "We're seeing more jobs, more hope.

"And we're also seeing something else: the rebirth of pride, the rebirth of pride that comes from stamping products ‘Made in America’.”

The current employees from the facilities of California and Texas will be participating in the White House event by video.

The President has been extremely dependent on the manufacturing sector for economic growth and national pride.

Many manufacturing executives including the CEO of Simons had met Biden to consider their expansion plans in the previous weeks.

Humpton has said about the need for manufacturing companies to merge global innovation with local production to prevent any supply chain challenges caused by the pandemic, the process she called "glocalization."
