Job Summary:

We are actively seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Programmer with specialized knowledge of Siemens fire alarm systems (including MXL, XLS, platforms) to support projects across New York City. The ideal candidate must have the necessary NYC certifications and demonstrate a high level of technical expertise in programming, configuring, and commissioning complex fire alarm systems in accordance with local codes and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, configure, and commission Siemens fire alarm systems (MXL, XLS, Modular/Desigo)
  • Interpret fire alarm drawings and sequences of operation to build accurate system logic
  • Coordinate with electricians, engineers, and inspectors to meet NYC Fire Code and NFPA 72 standards
  • Perform functional system testing and troubleshoot software and hardware issues
  • Prepare and submit accurate programming documentation, device lists, and test reports
  • Interface with NYC Fire Department inspectors (FDNY) during inspections and approvals
  • Support site installation teams and ensure smooth handoffs to service/maintenance teams
Required Certifications (New York City):
  • S-98
  • NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • NYC DOB SST Card
Required Experience & Skills:
  • 5+ years of hands-on fire alarm programming experience
  • Strong background with Siemens MXL, XLS, systems
  • Familiarity with Cerberus Pro , and other Siemens tools
  • Knowledge of NYC Fire Code, FDNY procedures, and NFPA 72 standards
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Siemens factory training or certifications
  • Experience working in commercial, healthcare, or high-rise residential settings in NYC
  • Familiarity with integrated systems (access control, BMS, etc.)


Salary: $45 an hour and up to commensurate professional experience and tenure

- Contribute to the improvement of productivity tools through idea generation, workout attendance, and small projects as required, including focus on material spend efficiency.
- Act as change agent/field "expert" for these programs and monitor New Product Introduction product performance developing credibility with Product Engineering along the way.
- Gather data and share information with Product Operations and Modality Engineering groups to drive product ease of serviceability.
- Identify field process improvements that drive first call resolution excellence.
- Support field-based technical training and instructor lead training at HCI as needed and drive use of remote diagnostic troubleshooting tools to qualified field personnel; fulfill role as Adjunct/Coach/Expert within a Region.
- Be supportive of Service of Tomorrow strategy deployment.
- Drive meaningful reductions in "Time To Up", "Hours Applied" and "Material Consumed" per capita IB vs peer regions.
**Required Qualifications:**
- Minimum 7 years of Field Service Engineering experience with the repair and maintenance of Siemens CT including the Force/Drive, Go, Definition, and Sensation.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job as it pertains to onsite repair, installations, and escalations on an as-needed basis.
- Deep technical acumen in one or more healthcare modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to handle/resolve complex technical issues and apply expert-level knowledge to applicable systems.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills to manage complex remote trouble shooting process.
- Exceptional customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Ability to travel up to 20% or more as required to customer sites, training and other HQ sessions.
- Flexible to work other shifts to coverage vacations, holidays, and emergency situations.

+ Minimum 1 year of experience with hands on development with OpCenter Electronics/Camstar or OpCenter Discrete
+ Minimum 1 year with interface development
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (12 years); or an Associate's Degree with 6 years of work experience.

+ Workflow or program the solution components in MES/MOM platforms.
+ 2+ years of experience in one or more Manufacturing Shop floors systems
+ 2+ years of exposure to manufacturing process
