Microsoft has experienced a major global outage, disrupting access to its cloud computing platforms and causing airlines to cancel flights.
Users around the world reported issues with Microsoft 365 apps and services, according to Downdetector.com, which monitors service disruptions.
Microsoft acknowledged the problem on its status page for Azure, its cloud platform.
It said the outage began just before 10pm ET Thursday, July 18, and primarily affected systems in the central US.
The company said it has identified the cause and was working to restore access, though it did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.
The outage led low-cost airline Frontier to cancel several flights.
