Frasers Group is cutting jobs at its Studio Retail base in East Lancashire and relocating the base to its Derbyshire offices, roughly 100 miles away, to streamline operations.

The retail giant has started a consultation period affecting nearly 100 employees in Accrington.

The company informed staff: "To improve operational efficiency, a proposal, subject to consultation, has been made to relocate the Customer Services operation from our existing Clayton-Le-Moors office to the Shirebrook office, and the Studio Customer Services Contact Centre in Clayton-Le-Moor will cease."

Staff directly impacted by this change were briefed on Thursday, October 12, with detailed follow-up communications to come in the subsequent days.

The affected employees would face redundancy on November 26.

In August, Studio Retail CEO Paul Kendrick said that Frasers Group plans to merge Studio Retail with Missguided and I Saw It First.

The move aims to achieve "significant cost efficiencies" while leveraging long-term group investments in technology through a shared platform.

It’s part of a broader efficiency drive within Frasers Group, which has previously resulted in several rounds of job cuts.

The firm slashed over 100 jobs at its Manchester head office and 200 redundancies at the group's head offices in Shirebrook and London.

Another 90 job losses happened after acquiring 14 businesses from JD Sports at the beginning of the year.

Frasers Group's £26.8 million takeover of Studio Retail occurred in February of the previous year when Studio Retail was acquired out of administration.
