Selfridges to cut staff at stores and head office

Selfridges has revealed it is looking to cut jobs at some of its stores and at its head office.

This is Money reported the store's managing director Andrew Keith told staff changes would be made in an "efficiency restructure."

A letter to staff said: “We’ve been reviewing how Head Office including some small teams in retail who support our stores are organised to best deliver for our customers.

“To do this involves looking at our structures, our costs, our revenue lines, and our ways of working, from top to bottom”.

He continued: “Regrettably this is likely to mean some of our head office teams, including some small teams in retail who support our stores, will be resized and reshaped.”

He added the changes are designed to: “unlock better ways of working and offer the potential to deliver long term sustainable growth and profitability for our business”.

More details on Selfridges' job cuts will be released later this week.
