**Academic Open Rank Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Adult Reconstruction**
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking a Board-Eligible or Certified, Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic surgeon in Hip and Knee Joint Replacement for a tenure eligible Open Rank Professor position to start in 2027. Qualified applicants must have demonstrated clinical expertise and have demonstrated the ability to perform quality basic scientific or clinical research.
Candidates must have a MD and be board-eligible or board-certified. A fellowship in adult reconstruction is expected as well as evidence of academic productivity. Training and exposure in the broad range of surgical techniques is preferable, particularly as it relates to primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, trauma, infection, and rapid recovery surgical protocols. Salary, rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications. The position will remain open to applications until filled.
The incumbent will join a group of 30 orthopaedic faculty who share emergency orthopaedic call coverage at a Level 1 quaternary care trauma center, and assist in initial management of emergent musculoskeletal conditions outside of the adult reconstruction domain as needed for the Central Virginia region. The candidate will also share arthroplasty call with other adult reconstruction faculty. Currently, the Adult Reconstruction Division has three surgeons and four physician assistants to manage the patient population along with two adult reconstruction fellows.
The candidate will see patients in our newly constructed UVA Orthopaedic Center Ivy Road, a 200,000 square foot facility housing all orthopaedic subspecialties, physical therapy, outpatient operating rooms, conference space, prosthetics and orthotics, and a joints replacement clinic, and may also see adult reconstruction patients in local outreach clinics. They will perform surgery in both the in-patient and the out-patient areas of the UVA Health System.

The Department of Pathology, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seeks applicants for a faculty position in our Anatomical Pathology Division and Dermatopathology Section, open to all ranks. The Dermatopathology service overviews approximately 13,000 accessions per year, including over 9,000 internal specimens, more than 130 direct immunofluorescence specimens (DIF), and more than 3,000 consultations. Complex molecular testing is available: including next generation sequencing, OncoScan chromosomal microarray, and a variety of other techniques.
Participation in the teaching of pathology and dermatology residents and fellows is required. Our consultation program has subspecialty interest in cutaneous lymphoma, melanocytic pathology, pediatric dermatopathology, and adnexal tumors. Multiple interdisciplinary conferences include a weekly melanoma and cutaneous oncology tumor board, dermatology grand rounds, and a cutaneous lymphoma conference.
