Elon Musk says AI will make all jobs obsolete in the future

Tech mogul Elon Musk has predicted a future where artificial intelligence would replace all jobs.
Musk, who owns Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), and the new AI startup xAI, said AI has the potential to become the “most disruptive force in history.”
Echoing the plots of the iconic Terminator films, Musk said there will come a point where AI outsmarts humans, and work becomes unnecessary.

While speaking alongside British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at an event at Lancaster House in London, Musk mentioned: “You can have a job if you wanted to have a job for personal satisfaction.
“But the AI would be able to do everything.
Musk joked: “I don’t know if that makes people comfortable or uncomfortable,” to laughs from the audience.
He added: “If you wish for a magic genie, that gives you any wish you want, and there’s no limit.
“You don’t have those three wish limits nonsense, it’s both good and bad.

“One of the challenges in the future will be how do we find meaning in life.”
Musk has frequently warned about the dangers of AI, even comparing it to nuclear weapons.
He even advocated for a pause in the development of advanced AI.
Musk was part of an open letter signed by tech leaders earlier in the year, calling for such a pause.
Not all leaders agree
However, not all tech leaders share this perspective.

For instance, Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir, disagrees, suggesting that some seeking a pause lack a viable product.
Musk's remarks followed a summit at Bletchley Park, England, where global leaders reached a consensus on the risks associated with AI.
The summit served as a platform for technologists and political leaders to discuss the existential threats posed by AI.
It includes scenarios involving hypothetical superintelligence.
The US and China, two nations often at odds over technology, agreed to work together in finding global solutions to address complex questions related to AI, with a focus on safety and regulation.
