Novant Health announces 160 job cuts

Novant Health will eliminate 160 positions across its healthcare network.

The Winston-Salem-based firm cites a “challenging healthcare environment” to undergo an organizational redesign. 

The job reductions will primarily affect management and administrative roles

The healthcare company said it will do “everything we can” to support those affected by the layoffs. 

The firm in Winston-Salem is one of the leading healthcare providers in the Charlotte region after Atrium Health. 

Novant didn’t reveal how many employees will be let go in Charlotte.

Novant Health said: “In a challenging healthcare environment, we are focused on how we can work differently to prioritize direct patient care, operate more efficiently and reimagine how we serve our patients.”

In late March, Novant laid off 50 workers, including several executives.
