Union members claim that the LGBTQ+ health group is already understaffed.

They fear that the job losses will jeopardize care for those who need it the most.

Almengor stated that she is battling for her patients and coworkers who have been fired.

She said: “There’s been a lot of emotions in the past days, mainly anger, but that anger is also fueling us because Howard Brown doesn’t appreciate their staff, nevertheless their patients.”

A Howard Brown Health spokesperson said: “We support our employees in the union and their right to express their opinion. For our patients, we are continuing services.”

The organization cut 60 employees on December 30, and it was reported they arrived at work to find themselves locked out of their emails and work software, having previously been told their last day would be on January 3.
