Seoul Semiconductor Sues Amazon In European Court

Seoul Semiconductor has sued Amazon, taking its case to the European Unified Patent Court. 

This comes after the company's efforts to prevent the sale of products in Europe that allegedly infringe on its patents

Over the past five years, Seoul Semiconductor has obtained 15 injunctions in the US, Germany, France, and the Netherlands for similar patent infringements.

It holds a portfolio of over 18,000 patents, including ones that allow for adjusting LED lighting's brightness and color.

The South Korean firm is taking a firm stance on protecting its intellectual property.

As of now, Amazon has not responded to the lawsuit.

Established in June 2023, this court enables the enforcement of patent rights across 17 EU nations with a single ruling.
