At Northrop Grumman's Advanced Technology Lab - VARIETY describes the work that our process integration team enjoys. We are seeking a key member to join our team of people in the infrastructure support and maintenance of a world-class high-tech semiconductor processing facility.
**Description**
This is a full-time on-site lab facilities engineering position. A successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the facility operations for a broad suite of process tools in a semiconductor wafer research facility. They will have working knowledge of general HVAC and wafer fab support equipment and facilities is required as well as familiarity with the operation of software and hardware control systems, basic electronics, cleanroom mechanical systems and deionized water systems.
The facilities engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining systems for equipment operations and training, safety, maintenance and repairs of support equipment. They will be required to interact with internal cross-functional teams, external partners, government agencies, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
They will participate in rotating on-call duties monitoring and responding to gas life safety systems, fire alarms, and critical facilities alarms. It will require working on weekends and holidays to plan for and provide hands-on coordination of major facilities equipment repairs, maintenance, modifications, and installations.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Experience working on industrial-grade HVAC systems in at least two of the following areas: chilled water, hot water, make up air handlers, exhaust systems
+ 10+ years working with hazardous chemicals and gas systems (corrosives, toxics, flammable, pyrophoric)
+ Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds, scale ladders of varying heights, and wear supplied air respirators, SCBA, Level B suits, ARC Flash suits, and coveralls
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ability to define processing and infrastructure requirements and specifications and coordinate with engineering personnel to insure compatibility and compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies
+ May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new procedures, equipment, automation technology, and approaches to facilities monitoring in the development of improved efficiency, uptime, and safe operation of the facility
+ Bachelors degree or a graduate of an electrical or mechanical apprentice program or trade school is preferred
+ Successful completion of CAL/OSHA or NFPA Compliance training or equivalent for electrical and life safety
+ This could include a degree in engineering such as Mechanical or Mechatronics
+ Ability to read and understand mechanical plans, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics to troubleshoot electromechanical equipments
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively lead outside contractors performing routine maintenance on systems critical to the facility such as ultra pure deionized water systems, clean dry air systems, process vacuum, wet scrubbers, and HVAC systems
+ Able to lead system servers for Vsphere and virtual machines, Windows Server OS, Linux (Ubuntu) Server OS in conjunction with IT personnel, and have a general knowledge of networking and subnet masks
+ Knowledge of SCADA systems such as Factory-Talk and Ignition
+ Able to design control panels, including component selection, development of sequence of operations, overload protection, and wiring
+ Knowledgeable in energy management systems
+ Knowledgeable of building system operations, maintenance, and repair
**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 and $281,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
