As a Mobility Executive Underwriter You Will
  • Help to develop creative insights and apply sophisticated capabilities as we navigate the evolving blend of commercial and personal insurance exposures and products.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Domain & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
    • 10–15 years of experience in investments, insurance, banking, consulting, or related fields, with exposure to regulated financial institutions.
    • Expertise in interpreting and applying financial regulation and rating agency frameworks for financial institutions; insurance‑specific experience strongly preferred.

The Position

The Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) team, part of the $22 billion Global Alternative Markets portfolio, is seeking a Senior Analyst or an Associate as the mandate executes on its next phase of growth. The strategy invests holistically across the infrastructure landscape including opportunities in (i) traditional energy, (ii) digital infrastructure, (iii) diversified infrastructure, (iv) renewables, (v) energy transition, and (vi) services and software into the infrastructure ecosystem. E&I's mandate is to deliver compelling, risk‑adjusted returns featuring strong downside protection and asymmetric upside. The team leverages subject‑matter expertise, ability to underwrite complexity, speed to execute, and a peer‑oriented go‑to‑market strategy to establish E&I as a differentiated capital partner of choice. This hire will be an integral member of the E&I team with significant ownership of the investment process across market research, sourcing, underwriting and ongoing portfolio management. The individual hired will be centrally involved in the execution of direct/co‑investment transactions and will also contribute meaningfully to primary fund commitments/relationships. This is a range posting between a Senior Analyst and Associate position and level will be determined by hiring team based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute as an integral member of the E&I Equity team to invest in opportunities across the infrastructure landscape.
  • Manage investment diligence from start to finish, performing comprehensive analysis and developing recommendations on direct investments, co‑investments, and fund commitments.
  • Effectively screen opportunities, identifying and succinctly communicating the most relevant investment highlights and key risk considerations.
  • Lead the creation of investment committee materials (complete with financial projections) and present the team’s investment recommendations to internal investment committees.

Position Overview

The Position

The Energy & I strategy invests holistically across the infrastructure landscape including real asset, services, and technology opportunities spanning power, midstream, energy transition, digital, transportation, utilities, and products. The team's mandate is to deliver compelling, risk‑adjusted returns with strong downside protection and significant upside potential. E I leverages subject matter expertise, ability to underwrite complexity, speed to execute, and a peer‑oriented go‑to‑market strategy to establish itself as a differentiated partner of choice. This hire will be a deal captain leading sourcing, execution and portfolio management across a variety of transaction types with responsibility as a senior member of the team to drive E I’s future growth and investment strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Lead value‑add infrastructure equity transactions with a focus on directs and co‑investments as well as fund and platform opportunities
  • Lead all aspects of deal execution including sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, structuring, management of the investment committee process, legal documentation, and asset management
  • Manage multiple projects at a time
  • Work with external partners as well as LMI’s legal, asset allocation, risk, and accounting & operations teams to develop customized investment opportunities and strategic partnerships

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in private equity infrastructure investments, including sourcing, structuring, execution, and management of complex transactions
  • Deep experience underwriting investments with an ability to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies
  • Proven investment track record with experience leading and overseeing a range of investments across sectors
  • Experience in managing deal teams and external constituents
  • Extensive network of investors, management teams, and advisors across the infrastructure landscape
  • Experience working from initial business plan review through execution
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and business units

The Position

As a member of the Risk Management Team, the Associate will assist with risk analysis, monitoring, and framework development across Liberty Mutual Investments with a focus in Analytics. This individual will help develop and/or automate new analytics and existing processes. In addition to wide-ranging contributions to risk management and monitoring, this Risk Management professional will help to elevate the firm's risk culture of constructive inquiry and advocate for the broader risk framework, which forms an integral part of LMI's investment process.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing and advancing LMI's risk management framework
  • Develop and/or enhance risk models and the risk framework to effectively manage risks and to improve risk management capabilities.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio risk review material, as well as providing ad hoc portfolio and risk analysis as necessary.
  • Monitoring global market developments and identifying major risks to our portfolio
  • Relating market conditions, industry and regulatory developments to investment execution
Qualifications

A degree in Computational Finance, Economics, or technical field and 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required. A graduate degree would be a plus.

The Ideal Candidate Must Also Bring The Following Qualifications
  • A strong quantitative background, including statistics, computational or numerical simulation methods, and econometrics
  • Programming experience in dynamically typed languages, including Python, Excel VBA, SQL
  • Familiarity with generative AI models
  • Demonstrated capability to drive projects to successful completion through cross-functional collaboration
  • Must be a self-starter with ambition and intellectual curiosity, as well as exceptional problem- solving skills, strategic thinking
  • Knowledge of various types of investments and their characteristics, including equities, fixed income investments, real estate/real assets and alternative investments
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Aladdin and other standard financial databases and tools preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment
  • A passion for risk management and a desire to learn about the field

The Position:

The LMI Compliance team is looking for a compliance attorney/professional to assist with our control room function to support LMI’s scaling private investment activity. This role requires frequent interactions with our investment teams and partners and general understanding of this process - wall-crossing, conflicts checks, company research, non-disclosure agreements, and documentation/monitoring in our systems.

Responsibilities
  • Support LMI’s policies and processes to mitigate & manage potential conflicts arising from LMI’s public and private investment activity.
    • Monitor LMI deal pipeline, confer with deal teams as appropriate, and ensure appropriate tracking of potential transactions within LMI systems
    • Research potentially impacted public securities and issuers, as well as deal/company facts to support materiality determinations; validate ongoing review of developments and status
    • Support review, negotiation and execution of deal-related non-disclosure agreements
    • Help drive transition to new compliance control room platform; work with colleagues to ensure successful integration with LMI pipeline platform and migration of legacy data
    • Experience with control room / trading systems and related technology/data a plus (e.g., Aladdin, Dealcloud, MCO, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, CapIQ)
  • Support regulatory analysis on issues affecting LMI, including securities and insurance regulation matters.
    • Assist with LMI’s monitoring/tracking of applicable regulatory and industry developments; draft related summaries, guidance and proposed policy language as needed
    • Participate as needed in range of ad hoc and special projects with Compliance team and other LMI colleagues e.g., risk assessments, regulatory reporting, firm and corporate governance, etc.
  • Broad understanding of investment compliance programs (code of ethics, policies, testing, controls, etc.) in order to offer on-site compliance support.
Qualifications
  • Competencies typically acquired through at least a bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of relevant investment, compliance or legal experience; JD, control room experience, and experience with deal-related non-disclosure agreements a plus
  • Experience with and solid understanding of various asset classes and investment products; experience with private credit a plus
  • Basic knowledge of securities regulation and investment compliance topics - Investment Advisers Act of 1940, management of confidential and material non-public information, SEC and other regulatory requirements for buy-side institutional investors
  • Desire to expand knowledge of regulatory/legal/compliance topics applicable to the asset management and insurance industries
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ethical character; poise and confidence to interact with wide range of colleagues; collegial team player
