Department Summary:
As an operator of Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), MITRE staff are tasked with applying their skills to impact programmatic and technical decisions of highest importance to the nation. The Advanced Wireless & SATCOM Department which is part of the MITRE Technology and Engineering Infrastructure, Networking, and Communications Division, has as its mission to provide premier communications network engineering services for our customers at all classification levels. The Time Series Data (TSD) team builds and operates the time-series database and supporting software components that store and serve the telemetry behind Cisco Meraki's Dashboard. Our infrastructure ingests and serves millions of data points per second from a fleet holding petabytes of telemetry-data that powers the network insights customers see in Dashboard and feeds product teams, monitoring, analytics, and data lakes across Cisco.
We're a small, expert team that owns this software end to end, holds itself to a high bar, and takes an observability-driven approach to high-impact work in areas like reliability, high availability, business continuity, performance, and scalability. **Your Impact**
As a member of the Time Series Data team, you will develop, scale, and maintain the platforms and services which sustain several Cisco services and data platforms, including the flagship Meraki Dashboard product. + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; graduate degree preferred.
+ 5+ years of professional software development experience building production-quality systems.
+ Strong C# skills and a solid command of modern software design and architecture.
+ Proficiency in Python for real-world application development.
+ Working understanding of Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts, including the Model Context Protocol.
+ Proven experience designing and building well-structured interfaces, APIs, or SDKs that other engineers build on.
+ Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, automated testing, version control, and code reviews.
+ Experience with cloud platforms and Windows-based development environments.
+ Demonstrated use of AI-powered tools to accelerate software development.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a global team.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $129,600 - $207,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
