Macy’s to create 50 new jobs in Robertson County

Macy's has announced plans to expand its operations jobs in Robertson County by adding 50 additional positions to its Portland distribution center.

The Cincinnati, Ohio-based department store corporation intends to improve the distribution center’s performance by teaming with an unnamed automation vendor.

Dennis Mullahy, the company’s chief supply chain officer, said in the release: “The new automated technology will further modernize our operations and increase our capacity and productivity to better serve our valued customers across the country,”

Robertson County Mayor Billy Vogle said: “Robertson County is proud to be home to Macy’s and to have so many of our residents finding employment there.

"This expansion is a complement to our workforce and to the Portland area, and we are pleased that Macy’s has seen fit to make a substantial continued investment in our community”

The state has funded over ten economic development projects in Robertson County in the previous five years, resulting in over 1,300 job pledges and $627 million in capital investment jobs.

Rep. Sabi ‘Doc’ Kumar said: “Macy’s success is a testament to the hard work of our talented workforce and economic development partners in Portland and the surrounding area. We are proud they have chosen to expand and grow their business in our community, and we thank them for their continued investment,”
