About the internshipThis is a 10-week experience, designed to fully immerse analysts in the buy-side investment management industry by working alongside one of HIMCO's Front Office teams. Analysts are offered extensive development opportunities through a mentoring program, a mock-trading competition, an executive speaker series, volunteering, and social events. Analyst contributions during his/her internship will culminate in a capstone project presentation to provide an opportunity for exposure to HIMCO senior leaders. Successful summer interns may be invited back for a full time Front Office position. What are we looking for?Our summer internship program is open to candidates currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027. Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. We are seeking analysts to join our 19-person investment team. We sit together in an open office, where you will collaborate with senior investment team members and contribute actively to team deliberations. **What Will You Do?**
You will research new investment managers, present in weekly investment team meetings, write investment recommendations, and lead special projects. **Who You Are:**
The **Investments Analyst** position is a part of QTS' Strategic Planning and Investments team which is focused on driving core growth initiatives domestically and internationally including:
+ Land and operating asset acquisitions
+ New development opportunities including build-to-suit (single customer) and multi-tenant sites
+ Strategic asset management such as re-tenanting and asset repositioning
**What You Will Do:**
The **Investments Analyst** will be responsible for helping the team create and support the following:
+ Prepare investment materials such as investment memorandums, presentations, and proposals
+ Create financial models to evaluate company acquisitions, financings (joint-venture, equity initiatives, etc.), land, and capital recycling
+ Assist in managing projects from identification through completion, including coordination of due diligence teams, model underwriting, and financing
+ Lead calls and meetings with key internal and external constituents as well as partner with business leaders to ensure that they understand the key financial drivers of the various opportunities
The role requires keen skills in the areas of real estate, financial modeling, and technology, along with the ability to lead through influence and communicate with the executive team and Blackstone partners.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Mathematics or equivalent professional experience
+ 1+ years of working experience - preferably in a collaborative financial environment (banking, investment fund, real estate, etc.)
+ Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel
**Nice To Have:**
+ Knowledge of financial concepts such as WACC, NPV, IRR and ROI
**Knowledge Skills and Abilities:**
+ Ideal candidates will have a proven history of being extremely self-motivated, highly organized and open communicators who are eager to work in a fast-paced client focused entrepreneurial environment with limited formal structure
+ Ability to organize, interpret, and draw appropriate conclusions from large volumes of data and to creatively present the information in a manner that enables non-financial managers to easily understand the information

* Resolve internal and external client escalations within one business day and determine best course of action based on received reports of a client escalation
* Fully implement new contracts by the time funds are deposited, including setup of client web access to online statements and automated delivery of schedule A and C, provision of all necessary process instructions to the client, and initial deposit processing
* Ensure online client access to monthly fund balance statements; obtain and verify client access information and grant client access to online statements
* Foster good client relations with internal and external business partners
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills
Required:
* 2-5+ years of relevant experience
* Verbal and written communication skills
* Accuracy/Attention to detail
* Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously
* Skilled at working independently and as a team
