Exxon Mobil to cut 120 jobs in Texas by year-end

Exxon Mobil is set to reduce its workforce by 120 employees, primarily in central Texas.

The state's Workforce Commission confirmed the energy giant is looking to reduce roles.. 

The layoffs, scheduled for the year's end, will primarily affect areas outside the Permian Basin.

However, the good news for workers is that the cuts won’t impact West Texas or New Mexico operations

This announcement follows Exxon's recent acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resource Co. for $60 billion.

CEO Darren Woods assured the deal would result in only "minimal" job reductions.
