The individual will be responsible for collecting, filing, and accurately analyzing utility data and reporting upon findings and anomalies to Bridge Energy Management and/or clients. The intern must complete special and ad hoc utility tracking and budget summary reporting projects in a timely and effective manner. This is a paid internship opportunity.

Implements WM and WMRE safety policies and practices for all work activities, and ensures these practices are followed by other WM staff, vendors, contractors, and visitors entering the facility.
Completes all mandatory training activities for both safety and operational training as assigned by supervisor.
Procures plant supplies and replacement equipment in an efficient manner by identifying needs in advance, managing vendors, and working within WMRE guidelines as well as being responsible for the annual budget.
Promptly responds to call-outs of plant shutdowns during non-business hours to identify the cause of the shutdown and rectify/diagnose through appropriate repairs or adjustments to return the plant to operation while consulting with WMRE operations managers (as needed). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in, engage with, and learn the materials presented during the on-the-job education and training.
- Collaborate with and support the CCR REN Partner, the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization, to conduct outreach to potential customers, including presentations, and one-on-one meetings, as needed.
- Conduct on-site equipment assessments with customers that align with program offerings, gather required photos and other necessary documentation to make recommendations.
- Present the corresponding recommendations for services offered by the program and gain commitments by customers to proceed through obtaining necessary signed documents and other required customer information.

This position has a home-based office in the Grand Rapids area. It requires site work and the use of a personal vehicle with up to 25% local travel.
Day-to-Day
You will join a team dedicated to helping commercial and industrial customers reduce their energy use by providing technical expertise through energy efficiency programs, training initiatives, and direct-to-customer services. Some of the day-to-day activities you would be involved with might include:
- Identifying and quantifying energy efficiency opportunities.
- Performing energy and economic analyses.
- Reviewing energy assessments, opportunities, and calculations.
- Collaborating with customers, assisting with technical questions, and developing projects.
- Preparing reports and delivering presentations.
- Conducting site surveys and facilities assessments.
- Collaborating with other technical team members to teach and learn energy engineering fundamentals.
- Support customers with utility energy efficiency programs.
- Travel time up to 25%.

The pay range for this role is $71,711-$92,000 per year.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in energy assessments and commissioning/retro - retro-commissioning-related work.
- CEM, CEA, CMVP, EBCP, and PE certification preferred.
- Two years of experience with the items below preferred:
- Engineering support for utility energy efficiency programs.
- Retro-commissioning of HVAC, lighting, and process systems.
- New building systems commissioning.
- HVAC system assessments for general conditions and to identify energy savings opportunities.
- ASHRAE level I, II, III energy auditing for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Energy and economic analyses based on trending, bin weather data, and regression analysis.
- Utilizing BMS for trending, field measurement, and verification work.
- Calculate and verify energy savings from implemented energy efficiency measures.
- Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, pumps, chilled water, hot water, steam, industrial processes, and compressed air.
- Knowledge of decarbonization strategies for buildings and industries.
- Working on-site with commercial and industrial customers.
- Writing reports and delivering presentations.
- Utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office and advanced skills using Excel.
