Coke Florida is looking for a Lead Fleet Technician based out of our Cocoa location. We're currently looking for 8:00AM to 5:00PM, working Monday through Friday.
What You Will Do:
As a Coke Florida Lead Fleet Mechanic , you will be responsible for scheduling and performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on all company fleet vehicles. Lead fleet mechanics assist in the scheduling, coaching, and development of other team members.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Train, coach and provide day-to-day direction to team members as needed.
- Coordinate and monitor department repair and employee work schedules.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all types of fleet equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles.
- Perform mechanical repairs including engine, clutch, oil changes, washing and cleaning, greasing, transmission, brake repairs, tire changes. and inspection of hoses, belts, fluids and wiring.
- Respond to fleet service calls, pick up and deliver vehicles.
- Performs preventative maintenance inspections and D.O.T. inspections using prescribed check lists along with identifying and reporting all unsafe conditions.
- Maintain tools and equipment to company standards.
- Act as back-up support for fleet supervisor as needed.
For this role, you will need:
- 1+ years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required .
- Experience with Heavy Duty and PIT equipment is required .
- Excellent demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- May be required to supply automotive hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools).
Additional qualifications that will make you successful in this role:
- Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred.
- 3+ years journeyman mechanic experience preferred.
- Gasoline, diesel and propane vehicle experience preferred.
- ASE certification and CDL license or certification is highly preferred.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform repair work on vehicles, addressing breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repairs with safety, efficiency, and quality as your guiding principles. You will conduct operation tests prior to repairs to verify complaints and diagnose the cause of malfunctions, performing basic repairs to manufacturers' specifications on various systems including engines, transmissions, clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (both gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct operation tests prior to repairs to verify complaints.
+ Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform basic repairs to manufacturers' specifications.
+ Follow paper-flow procedures, including documenting correct mileage/hours, saving and tagging all warranty and core parts, and documenting all repairs on work orders using complaint, cause, and correction format.
+ Follow parts ordering and billing procedures.
+ Perform final operational tests on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs.
+ Ensure that company vehicles are clean and washed after repairs are completed.
+ Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, productivity, and longevity.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance on trucks, such as fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and brake repairs.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance on off-road equipment, including lubrications, adjustments, cutting tip replacements, and safety inspections.
+ Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or repair work is needed.
+ Inspect for cracks or damage to assess needed repairs.
+ Assist field teams for projects when shortfalls occur.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in diesel repair and troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of hydraulics and preventive maintenance.
+ Expertise in diesel engine systems, transmissions, and fleet management.
+ Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Ability to communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing.
+ Knowledge of engines, controls, brakes, suspensions, and ANSI A92.2 guidelines.
+ Skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment.
+ Repetitive motion: standard mechanic tools.
+ HD truck technical training or 2 years of related experience.

**Qualifications:**
- 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
