Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Architect for our growing Retail | Industrial Studio in our Plano, TX office.
As a major contributor on our professional Architecture team, you will work independently to assist clients through the planning and development of fiscally responsible projects. Your experience ensures that you are quite familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates, client guidelines and building codes. You will be innovative and creative, working with prototype designs and/or developing unique concepts from sustainable products with green architecture sensibility as your goals. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, continuous updating of a building information model, preparing a variety of output / drawings throughout the project, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required under instruction from the Project Leader.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for multiple projects of varied complexity.
- Engage in the development of design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
- Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
- Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details.
- Participate in bidding and negotiation phase and prepare addenda.
- Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.
- Lead project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
- Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.
- Assist in the preparation of the project specifications.
- Coordination of specs with construction documents.
- Participate in constructability review.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Passion for and experience in the commercial retail and industrial sectors
- Strong construction document / construction detailing experience
- Requisite knowledge and application of accessibility codes, applicable building codes.
- Strong understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program.
- Ability to develop floor plans, wall sections, and details.
- Ability to check work of others for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of architectural document production.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production.
- Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Ability to hand sketch and/or communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
- Ability to communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written).
- Strong presentation and interview skills.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Abobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam SketchUP or Enscape, and Newforma.
- Possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a licensed Architect.
- Registered architect or actively pursuing licensure
- Experience in commercial core/shell, retail, and industrial typologies
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 108,000.00 - Max Salary $ 162,000.00
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
**Benefits Summary:** Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. As an Associate Project Manager on our Data Center Civil Team, you will be a part of the firm's largest and most complex projects. You will oversee construction administration project deliverables for large, complex projects, while also directing and managing staff on technical aspects. This role ensures timely completion of projects in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget, and leads the delivery of high-quality solutions to meet engineering and design needs during the construction process. Additionally, the role involves overseeing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for construction assignments and acting as an advisor on complex projects. You will also coordinate with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, clients, and other consultants.
This role promotes efficiencies in producing quality work and supervises as well as reviews assignments of less experienced staff. You will secure appropriate resources for all project stages, ensuring timely completion and identify potential risks or additional costs and implement strategies to minimize impact.

**Job Description**
The **Design Manager** provides strategic leadership in developing, maintaining, and managing Raising Cane's global architectural design standards and prototype documentation. This role supports relationships with consultants and vendors and applies expertise in architecture, engineering, and interior design. They will help lead the full restaurant design process through all phases.
**Your Impact and Responsibilities:**
+ Deliver and review approved conceptual designs and prepare them for implementation by standardizing design details, FF&E, and support tools
+ Manage the release and updates of design standards including documents, templates, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
+ Support complex cross-functional projects through completion with focus on standardization, scale, and efficiency
+ Set team priorities and foster collaboration to meet project goals
+ Track project progress and apply lessons learned and analytics to improve design quality
+ Organize project teams, resources, and workflows for the Design team
+ Recommend and support changes to improve cost, performance, and implementation
+ Adapt base design drawings for prototypical and regional use
+ Assist with process improvements related to cost, efficiency, and effectiveness
+ Participate in reviewing and correcting full contract document packages
+ Assist with training and onboarding of external consultants and prototype architects
**Travel Requirements:**
+ Up to 20%
**Qualifications**
+ 5+ years' experience in architecture, design, or project management
+ 5+ years' experience working with architectural and site plans as well as construction documents, including cost and quality control, for retail or Restaurant projects
+ Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook PowerPoint, and Word
+ Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities
+ Able to work full-time at the Restaurant Support Office in Plano, TX
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in the restaurant or multi-unit retail environments
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, and Photoshop
