Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with all state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational curricula and programs that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor a team of qualified and enthusiastic childcare professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage the center's budget, including financial planning, tuition collection, payroll, and expense management.
- Maintain accurate enrollment records, attendance logs, and all necessary administrative documentation.
- Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents/guardians, communicating regularly about their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
- Market the center to prospective families, conduct tours, and manage enrollment processes to maintain optimal capacity.
- Ensure the physical environment of the center is safe, clean, organized, and conducive to learning and play.
- Plan and facilitate staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent engagement events.
- Handle disciplinary issues with children and staff in a fair and consistent manner, adhering to established policies.
- Oversee emergency preparedness plans and ensure staff are trained on safety procedures.
- Collaborate with community resources and organizations to enhance the center's programs and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a childcare management or director role.
- Valid state-specific childcare director's license or certification in Ohio, or ability to obtain.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood development, educational philosophies, and best practices in childcare.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Proficiency in using childcare management software and standard office applications.
- Familiarity with licensing regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., NAEYC).
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Successful completion of required background checks.
