Job Summary
To provide consultation, diagnosis and treatment of related medical conditions, under supervision of Medical Chief Officer.
Essential Functions
1. Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow- up procedures; .
2. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, blood work, and interprets test results;
3. Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, and managing infection;
4. Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with medical director concerning appropriate treatment;
5. Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients and records progress;
6. Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations;
7. Provides health education regarding health maintenance especially in the realm of STD prevention;
8. Prescreens cases requiring review by the Medical Chief Office;
9. Participates in staff meetings, planning meetings and other meetings as needed;
10. Participates in the program's ongoing quality assurance monito ring.

Professional Requirements
Qualifications
▪ Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience preferred;
▪ Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modem medicine related to public health services; general knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to public health;
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
▪ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with men and women of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment
Training, Education and Licensure:
▪ Current license to practice medicine within the state
▪ Board-Certified or Board eligible
▪ Current BLS certification
Travel
▪ Will be travelling to other clinic’s sites to work or attend meetings
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
▪ Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and repetitive motions
▪ Pushing and pulling objects up to 25 lbs.
▪ Frequent wrist, hand and finger dexterity to perform fine motor function without tremor.
▪ Full range of body motion including twisting body, pushing, pulling
▪ Position requires light to moderate work with 25 lb. maximum weight to lift and carry.
▪ Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
Work Schedule
▪ 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday; 9am – 6pm. Possible Saturdays: 9am – 3pm.

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
STATE SPECIFIC BOARD OF NURSING REQUIREMENTS
California
- Must possess current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certificate from California Department of Public Health (CDPH) at time of hire OR
- Hired at USRC location recognized by state of California as an approved dialysis technician training program and obtain California state certification (CHT) within six (6) weeks of successful completion of training program.
Maryland
- Must possess current Certified Nursing Assistants -- Dialysis Technicians (CNA-DT) certificate from Maryland Board of Nursing OR
- Hired at USRC location recognized by state of Maryland as an approved dialysis technician training program and obtain Maryland CNA-DT certificate within three (3) months from date of hire OR
- Out-of-state applicant must have active BONENT certification and provide proof of initial application for CNA-DT certification.
New Mexico
- Must have New Mexico dialysis technician certificate at time of hire OR
- Hired at USRC location recognized by state of New Mexico as an approved dialysis technician training program and obtain New Mexico state certification within six (6) months of successful completion of training program OR
- New Mexico certification of hemodialysis technician is required for out of state applicant with active state or national hemodialysis certification; must obtain New Mexico state certification prior to working as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician.
- After January 1 st , 2024, all initial applications for the certified hemodialysis technician will require a national hemodialysis technician certificate.
- The applicant must submit proof of a valid national hemodialysis technician certificate from a recognized organization.
- Hemodialysis technician students must have a current basic life support credential prior to and while the student has contact with patients
OHIO
- Must have Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate at time of hire OR
- Hired at USRC location recognized by state of Ohio as an approved dialysis technician training program and submit application for Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate to board no later than four (4) weeks prior to completion of the approved training program.
- Must obtain Ohio Board of Nursing Certificate (OCDT) not less than twelve (12) months and not later than eighteen (18) months of enrolling in the USRC OCDT program.
OREGON
- Must possess current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHDT) certificate from Oregon Public Health Division at time of hire OR
- Must obtain Oregon dialysis technician provisional certificate within three (3) weeks of successful completion of training program and obtain Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHDT) certificate from Oregon Public Health Division within eighteen (18) months. An Oregon Provisional Certification is valid for six months and can be renewed for one additional six month period.
