Position Overview:
Catering Truck Drivers are responsible for gathering the necessary equipment and products for assigned flights, delivering them to the aircraft, and retrieving used carts. This role requires close interaction with team members and strict adherence to safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and verify all necessary equipment and products for assigned flights.
  • Review flight documentation to ensure accuracy before heading to the ramp.

The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
**_JOB SUMMARY_** **:**
Operates vehicles for patient transport within a correctional healthcare setting in a safe manner. Provides routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles. Provides diversified administrative, clerical, and technical assistance/service within the correctional healthcare setting.
**_ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS_** **:**
+ Assists with safe, prompt transfers of patients between correctional facilities, Hospital Galveston and other free world destinations throughout a large geographical area.
+ Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers, destination and fuel/oil consumption.
+ Inspects condition of all assigned vehicles on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires and water.
+ Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisor.
+ Provides a clean, safe environment; performs or assists others to perform proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
+ Operates personal computers to enter and assimilate data, generate reports, draft routine correspondence, and develop special administrative analyses.

**_EQUIPMENT_** **:**
Standard hospital, clinical, and office environments in both a correctional and free world setting. Standard office equipment. Operation of 5,897 lb Patient Transport Driving vehicle with a maximum patient load of six (6) and a 7,250 lb Multiple Patient Vehicle with a maximum patient load of ten (10). Operates vehicles under adverse weather conditions and emergency driving situations. Rotating shifts may be required.
**_WORK ENVIRONMENT_** **:**
Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
**_REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE_** **:**
+ High school or equivalent.
+ Three (3) years related experience.
+ Valid Texas Driver's License required.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.

**What you'll be doing:**
+ Safely Drive an Interstate, CDL Required, Commercial Motor Vehicle in compliance with all Federal and State Regulations and Company policies.
+ Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down-time.
+ Transport product between branch and plant locations according to schedule.
+ Ensure appropriate product is selected and loaded for the appropriate day.
+ Load and unload the vehicle safely and efficiently to ensure proper load distribution and securement.
+ Comply with Federal Hours of Service regulations; utilizing logs and Electronic Logging Devices as required.
+ Conduct daily Pre- and Post-Trip safety inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.
+ Correct minor defects and deficiencies; top off fluids, bulbs, wiper blade replacement, emergency equipment inventory, etc.
+ Report unsafe conditions, accident, roadside inspections, and incidents immediately.

+ Follow all safety policies, HACCP, and medical guidelines.
**Qualifications**
**What we're looking for:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
+ Minimum 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience for CDL required positions without Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) certificate (anyone issued a CDL license prior to 2/7/2022). External candidates must have a minimum 90-day verifiable CDL driving experience for CDL required positions if they obtain their CDL license on or after 2/7/2022 according to ELDT standards.
+ Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
+ Valid driver's license (CDL-A) is required.
+ Safe driving record in accordance with the Pre-employment Background Policy is required.
+ Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
+ Ability to lift up 20 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs.
+ Must register with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearing House
+ Must have excellent communication skills to work with other team members and management.
