• Local deliveries to residential and commercial job sites
• Safely and efficiently operate vehicles, truck mounted forklifts, warehouse forklifts
• Assist in day-to-day functions of warehouse operations while following safety practices
• Load and unload trucks
• Maintain accurate checklists and delivery logs
• Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, material handling practices, and load securement policies
• Communicate with supply center team and customers for accurate, on-time delivery

• Ensure all merchandise is properly racked and tagged

• Lift or move up to 100 lbs.
• Standing, walking, moving, and talking frequently

• The atmosphere is that of a warehouse environment and office space
• This position will primarily work in a facility where forklifts are present
• Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for the branch location
• Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat

Essential Functions:

Customer Service

-Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs

-Seeks out customers to understand his/her needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise

-Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by walking them through projects when necessary

-Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers

-Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs

-Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with the truck driver to call the customer

In-stock

-Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders

-Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks (within payload) according to delivery order

-Inspects condition of products (e.g., appliances) before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading

-Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers

Clean and Safe Stores

-Ensures that the loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

-Updates delivery and route status (e.g., on-site, completed) on system (e.g., iPhone) for tracking purposes

-Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery

-Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and other equipment (e.g., lift gates)

-Completes Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting to maintain DOT certification and CDL compliance

-Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection

-Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas

-Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates

-Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties: top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, use of aisle blockers, a tether line on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices

-Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compacter baler)

-In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

-Class A CDL License - In locations with multi-unit CMV (tractor trailer & flatbed) a class A license is required to operate.

or

-Class B CDL License - In locations with single-unit CMV (tandem flatbed) a class A or B license with air break endorsement is required to operate.

and

-Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment

and

-Ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements.

and

-Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

-Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction)

-Must be 21 years of age

-Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations

Preferences:

-1 Year Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school

-6 Months Experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service

-3 Months Experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for safely transporting material from a clients' location and to an assigned destination for processing or disposal. Performs necessary tasks to load and unload material utilizing commercial trucks and/or heavy/agricultural equipment. (May include tankers and end dump trailers in an off road environment.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Complete a daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at EOD

2. Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public

3. Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment

4. Comply with all DOT, state, local and in-house regulations, procedures, and rules

5. Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times

6. Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination

7. Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site. May involve overnight travel

8. Clean bio-solids off truck/equipment before leaving the field site or landfill

9. Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

1. Ability to backup truck/equipment

2. Ability to memorize routes

3. Ability to understand and carryout instructions

4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES

3. Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years or DWI/DUI in last 10 years
