Role Overview
As a key member of our aviation team in Minneapolis, MN, the Airport Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and construction administration of airport-related projects. Responsibilities include:
- Designing Aviation Engineering Projects : Leading and contributing to the design of various aviation projects.
- Analyzing and Preparing Reports : Analyzing data and preparing detailed engineering design reports, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Client Interactions : Assisting with interactions and communications with aviation clients to ensure their needs are met.
- QA/QC Tasks : Performing quality assurance and quality control tasks to maintain high standards.
- Project Management Support : Assisting with project management tasks, providing support to ensure project milestones are met.
- Onsite Engineering : Serving as the onsite project engineer during construction projects.
- Regulatory Compliance : Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to inform project designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Transportation from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a preference for those holding or pursuing a PE license.
- EIT certification required.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience in heavy civil transportation and/or aviation design is highly desirable.

- Expertise in design and calculations for drainage facilities, grading, street improvements, water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
- A minimum of twelve (12) years experience in civil engineering.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Active Minnesota and/or Wisconsin PE license.
- Work experience in Civil 3D.
Above & Beyond:
Some work experience in architecture, engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, or planning firm.
