The role is based in an office setting in Huntington Beach, operating Monday through Friday. The office has 6 providers, with a maximum of 4 working per day and a minimum of 2. Each provider sees 22-24 patients per day. The support staff includes 3 members in the back office and 4 in the front office. The providers have a long history of patients, with some patients growing up with the practice from infancy to 18 years old. We seek someone interested in a long-term commitment who can work effectively in a collaborative environment.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.

As a member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant is responsible for positive patient relations, proper telephone communication, verification of patient information by interviewing patient and confirming purpose of visit. The Medical Assistant is also responsible to prepare the patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Greets patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current medications and record in medical record.
+ Assists with tracking and monitoring department specific data.
+ Explains policies, procedures, or services to patients using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practice
+ Manages patient care flow and assist with monitoring CS-Link message pools and standard work.
+ Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs.
+ Sweeps clinical areas to monitor inventory based on standard work.
+ Cleans/re-processes equipment and supplies based on standard work and department guidelines.
+ Addresses patient, physician, and staff concerns and escalate accordingly.
+ Provides assistance in QA measures for suites, including recording QC testing on designated equipment.
+ Monitors their own workflow to identify opportunities for improvement.
+ Participates in daily huddles and staff meetings
**Qualifications**
**Education**
+ High school diploma or GED required
+ Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program and/or Medical Assistant Certification from Board approved Medical Assistant Organization
+ Graduate of an accredited X-Ray program preferred
**Experience**
+ 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical/medical office setting preferred
**Licenses/Certification**
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required-Must be valid within 60 days of hire date
+ Certification from Board approved Medical Assistant Organization preferred

Come join our dedicated and caring team of professionals as a Medical Assistant II. With guidance and direction from our staff R.N. and L.V.N., the Medical Assistant will:
+ Assist clinical staff at our primary care clinic in the delivery of health care to our clinic population.
+ Interview patients, take vital signs, room patients for providers, and record services in patients' charts.
+ Assist with procedures and screening tests, such as tympanometry, audiometry, UA, and pregnancy tests.
+ Maintain stocks of clinical supplies.
+ Assist in autoclaving, and with volunteer orientation.
+ Provide pregnancy counseling and administer nebulizer treatments.
+ Translate Spanish/English for providers as needed.

Qualifications
Required:
+ Documented evidence of completed Medical Assisting training (Medical Assistant Certification).
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of general medical and laboratory procedures.
+ Ability to take vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure and pulse), and perform tympanometry and audiometry.
+ Ability to perform lab-screening tests such as UA and pregnancy.
+ Proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand and carefully transmit spoken and written instructions.
+ Ability to float to other facilities within Los Angeles County as needed for coverage.
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbally).
+ Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and interact in a professional manner with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
