**Position Title:**
Production Associate - Utility
**Shift:**
24/7 manufacturing operation offering seven (7) days off over a fourteen (14) day period. **Shift hours 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - OR - 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.** (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off). **APPLICANTS MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK EITHER SHIFT.** You will enjoy a pre-determined schedule with no mandatory overtime, and every other weekend will be a three-day weekend. Voluntary overtime will be available for those who want it.

$21.75 - 22.25 per hour

$00 after 30 days,

Job Summary:
The Machine Operator ensures safe, efficient, and sanitary operation of production equipment to meet quality and scheduling goals. Responsibilities include running and maintaining fillers, cappers, and related systems, performing routine cleaning (CIP), and following all safety, food handling, and environmental procedures. The role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment, including correcting unsafe acts/conditions
- Supports implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the food safety and handling system
- Ensures canning runs are completed in-full, on time, with no quality defects. Maintains and ensures adherence to sanitation practices
- Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP's) for area of responsibility. Maintains fluid levels on fillers
- Operates fillers, cappers, rinsers, process systems and other equipment in the normal course of duties
- Performs Clean-in-Place (CIPs) on various processing equipment and other cleaning tasks during shift, at end of shift, and at shutdowns
- Follows instructions from supervisors regarding policies and procedures
- Effectively responds to directions during emergencies by understanding emergency procedures, equipment, and systems as necessary; Implements contingency plan to the level required

- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, accessories, and materials on machines such as turn tables and polishing machines.

The Opportunity
The Machine Operator is responsible for the proper and safe operation of different machinery used in the processing and packaging floor, while adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. The Machine Operator must follow and adhere to all company process procedures and controls. The Machine Operator will report to and work closely with the Production Manager and Production Lead on shift.
Essential Functions

Machine Operations:
- Operate Processing and Packaging Equipment: Operate various processing and packaging machines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain Operation Flow: Operate and monitor lines, removing or shifting material and/or finished product as necessary to facilitate proper flow and machine operation.
- Product and Package Changeovers: Perform changeovers on equipment, labelers and date coders following procedures.
- Machine Setup: Properly set up at startup and perform necessary setting adjustments on equipment throughout the shift.
- Monitor Packaging Operation: Continuously check the label, seals on packaging, net weights and date placement throughout the shift to ensure that every package label and date is correct according to the specification sheet.
Ingredient Handling and Preparation:
- Receive and Inspect Raw Materials: Verify that raw ingredients are correctly labeled, stored, and meet the required quality specifications.
- Segregation Management: Ensure that ingredients are properly stored, segregated, and handled to prevent cross-contamination, using dedicated equipment and maintaining clean environments.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- In-Process Quality Inspection: Notify QA Technician or Production Lead in regards to process checks and when samples are ready to be collected or at various stages of processing or packaging.
- GMP Compliance: Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and FDA and USDA compliance at all times.
- Prevent Contamination: Ensure that all equipment and ingredients are free from contaminants or allergens that could affect product quality.
- Quality Issue Notification: Notify QA Technician of any issues related to batch quality, equipment performance, or ingredient inconsistencies. Notify Production Lead or Maintenance Technician when necessary.
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Maintain Processing and Packaging Equipment: Perform routine operator maintenance on processing and packaging equipment, such as cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, and proper calibration.
- Ensure Equipment Functionality: Monitor for any signs of equipment malfunction or breakdowns and take appropriate action, including troubleshooting minor issues or escalating to maintenance teams.
- Report Equipment Issues: Report any mechanical or operational issues to Production Lead or Maintenance Technician.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain Accurate Records: Document all ingredient batch/LOT information, and any deviations to ensure traceability.
- Record Batch Information: Maintain detailed batch / LOT records (BOM, batch production logs) to ensure compliance and to facilitate traceability in case of any product recalls or audits.
- Production Reports and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of downtime and machine operations, and properly complete all documentation and reports daily.
Safety:
- Ensure Safe Work Practices: Follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (e.g., gloves and eye protection).
- Maintain Clean and Safe Work Environment: Ensure that work areas, equipment, and materials are kept clean and orderly, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Follow Regulatory Guidelines: Ensure all processes are in compliance with FDA and USDA requirements and quality standards.

This position requires prolonged standing and walking for the duration of the shift. The employee must have excellent stamina with the ability to remain focused and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position. Following a first shift training period, the role will be scheduled for third shift. Exact hours may vary based on training, coverage, and production schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position does not require travel.

**Key Responsibilities**
Can safely operate most of the major shop tools (CNC Router, Laser, Water Jet, Sheet Metal Brake, Teflon Press, Manual Mill, Manual Lathe, Fork Lift, and Cranes) performing basic operations in producing prototype parts, production parts, modifications and repairs to existing parts and assemblies.
Supports in-house customers, such as manufacturing, engineering, business units. Portrays a customer service approach. Interfaces effectively and courteously with customers and co-workers.
Utilizes Work Orders, blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine machining process, procedures, tooling and fixtures requirements.
Performs a variety of machining and/or assembly tasks utilizing standard machine shop equipment, such as surface grinders, drill presses, grinders, sanders, band saws, routers, and/or standard power tools.
Plans and performs complex machine set-ups. Possesses a good working knowledge of trigonometry, which is required to accurately calculate angles used in set-ups and machining. Makes full use of machine capacity to minimize amount of machining or number of set-ups required to product parts competitively.
Can nest parts to maximize material efficiency reducing waste.
