Job responsibilities include:
Prepare curriculum and teach group fitness classes. Complete ancillary administrative records and assist with promotions. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Attend staff meetings and in-house training as required. Annually, contribute to the assessment of the class and personal performance evaluation. Remain current in industry standards prescribed by supervisor. Behave in a professional manner, work as a team player and adhere to facility policies.
- Documented completion of a minimum 450-hours Comprehensive Pilates teacher - training program - preferred
- American CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire - required
- Nationally recognized Pilates certification - required
- Previous Pilates teacher experience in a gym/health club environment - preferred
- Responsible to building and maintaining a member/client business
UCSF Fitness and Recreation inspires growth and health on the UCSF campus through fitness, community, and play. The Group Fitness unit is an integral part of Fitness and Recreation and provides customer service while ensuring participants participate in Pilates instruction in a safe environment. The Pilates Instructor works under direct supervision of the Asst Director Fitness Programs and is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Fitness unit, which includes customer service, creating and following lesson plans and providing quality instruction to all program participants.
Note : This is a limited position and ends 1 year from date of hire, with potential to renew annually.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

UCSF Fitness and Recreation operates two fitness centers at UCSF. We provide fitness and wellbeing services to UCSF students, faculty, staff and community members through a broad range of fitness, recreation, aquatics, personal training, outdoor programs, and health and wellness programs. Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of program activity practices and procedures.
- Verbal and written communication skills in the English language, active listening, dynamic flexibility, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
- Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills.
- Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Exercise Science or a related field of study strongly.
- Documented completion of a minimum 450-hours Comprehensive Pilates teacher - training program.
- One year experience teaching on all Pilates apparatus and/or have completed Pilates Teacher training with a minimum of 450 hours.
- Knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
- Basic skills in computer programs relevant to job duties.
- Rehab or injury management experience.
License/Certification
- American CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
- Nationally recognized Pilates certification

We are looking for driven, creative, and enthusiastic Group Fitness Instructors to join the FITNESS SF team. This is a part-time hourly position. The responsibility of a FITNESS SF Group Fitness Instructor falls into the following general categories:

Position Summary
Group Fitness Instructor provides instruction in non-credited recreational or sports activities to participants of all ages. Applies full knowledge and experience in recreational sports activities to create and adjust program methods and processes and provides safe instruction to participants. This is a 10% FTE, part-time (4 hours/week), contract appointment, and is not eligible for UC benefits. This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position.
Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. Job Description
Our F45 family is looking for energetic, knowledgeable, and charismatic group fitness trainers. F45 Trainers play a fundamental role within the team and company culture as they lead our classes, working closely with each individual member providing the ultimate F45 experience.
Combining functional movement with high intensity interval training our 45-minute workouts are delivered by a talented team of certified personal trainers using cutting edge technology to deliver results for our members.
There are no workouts to plan - the F45 Athletics and Peak Performance Department does it for you. As an F45 Trainer, you will run group training sessions, assess member fitness levels, build a community that keeps our members coming back every day, and promote the F45 brand throughout our market area.
* Ensure members are performing exercises safely, using the correct form at all times, and offering modifications as needed
* Promote an energetic environment and welcome members by name
* Inspire members to fully utilize all F45 resources to achieve personal fitness goals
* Focus on membership acquisition and retention, including conducting referral/lead generation activities
* Setup and cleanup the studio for specific functional training classes
Qualifications:
* Personal Training Certification through a nationally recognized organization
* Must have CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
* Exceptional communication skills
* Ability to develop strong relationships with members
* Solid knowledge of biomechanics and exercise physiology
* Motivated and passionate about health and fitness
* Reliable and punctual with excellent attention to detail
* Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and afternoons

THE POSITION

- 1-year minimum experience as a personal fitness trainer
- Plenty of hours on offer must be available on weekends and afternoons throughout the weekday
- Character, care, and communication skills
- Energetic and attentive
- Must understand functional movement, HIIT, and heart rate focused training programs and the science that supports the F45 workouts
- Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be clear, comfortable with public speaking
- Demonstrate knowledge and usage of social media such as Instagram and Facebook
- Required to be on their feet and constantly moving while leading and instructing members for the entirety of the workout
- Nationally accredited current fitness certification - certifications: NSA, ACE, ACSM, PTA Global, NASM, AFAA
- Must hold and maintain a current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Must be group training certified
