The Supplier Management Engineer will contribute to global performance management at Thermo Fisher. Traveling up to 50%, we visit suppliers to resolve manufacturing, quality, and technical issues, and prevent future problems. We provide supplier investigation ownership and applies enhanced problem-solving skills (six sigma) to identify true root cause, develop, and implement irreversible corrective actions.

A Day in The Life:

  • Provides efficient and effective solutions and CAPA management for supplier issues.

  • Leads technical aspects for suppliers, optimizing materials and services.

  • Responsible for communicating supplier issues to Leadership Team

  • We participate in periodic business and relationship review meetings with problematic suppliers.

  • We serve as a primary point of contact to Thermo Fisher manufacturing sites and suppliers in the region. Influences internal partners and works across functional boundaries to identify business needs, establish standard processes, ensure alignment, and mitigate risk.

  • We are responsible for ensuring data-driven Global Supplier Management program that focuses on identifying and mitigating risk across the direct material supply chain.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree is required in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of meaningful experience in a regulated environment (GMP a plus), in any of the following industries: Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, OTC Drug, Cosmetic and/or Food and Dietary Supplements, Automotive or Aerospace is required.

  • 3 years of experience within at least 2 of the following functional areas:

  • Operations,

  • Quality,

  • Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management

Position Information

New Hanover County is currently seeking a committed and experienced full-time Emergency Management Specialist to become a valuable member of our dynamic team. This position reports to a Senior Emergency Management Specialist and will work with local, regional, state, and federal partners to manage several programs, requiring specialized knowledge in each.

New Hanover County Emergency Management (NHC EM) manages New Hanover County's emergency/disaster procedures and strategies by planning, developing and/or coordinating activities for training, drills and exercises of plans and equipment. NHC EM collaborates externally with local, regional, state, and federal agencies, non-government organizations, and the private sector to promote "whole community" planning.

Essential Duties include:
  • Assist in developing and managing plans for a comprehensive disaster and emergency management program for the County in one or more emergency management program areas of preparedness and planning, response, recovery and/or mitigation.
  • Assist in and facilitate the development, review, and modification of the County's emergency plans and its annexes.
  • Serve as primary project manager for the creation, review, exercising, and development of resources related to the County's Continuity of Operations Plan program.
  • Serve as primary project manager for the creation, review, exercising, and development of resources related to the THIRA program.
  • Contribute to pre-disaster recovery program planning and post-disaster recovery program delivery for a declared emergency or event to assist affected departments, employees, and/or citizens and coordinates damage assessments post-incident.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with preparedness and response partners internally and external to the County and with outside emergency management agencies.
  • Regularly contribute attend, and represent the department on various committees, workgroups, and teams; cooperates with multi-jurisdictional and stakeholder coordination efforts to determine appropriate courses of emergency action, establish, or make recommendations for emergency planning guidelines, and ensure compliance with emergency management mandates.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Required to Perform Satisfactorily
A. Knowledge
1. Knowledge of emergency management methods and theories, principles and practices related to Emergency Management.
2. Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations with regard to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
3. Knowledge of County departments, local agencies, state and federal agencies, and their roles and responsibilities with regard to local emergencies/disasters and delivery of services.
4. Knowledge of research methodology, statistical analysis, and survey design.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree with major coursework in Emergency Management Public Policy, Public Administration or a related field and an equivalent combination of training and experience of no less than five (5) years is preferred. Completion of the FEMA Emergency Management Basic Academy. Holder of the Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) credential from the International Association of Emergency Managers.

Successful development and/or maintenance of EOP, THIRA, COOP processes at the local, regional, state, federal, or tribal level. Successful completion of ICS 300 and ICS 400 is preferred. Completion of ICS Position Specific course work to fill the role of Planning Section Chief with accompanied assignment and active participation on an incident management team or having the Planning Skillset coursework completed is preferred.

  • Assist in reviewing, developing, and managing plans for a comprehensive disaster and emergency management program for the County in one or more emergency management program areas of preparedness and planning, response, recovery and/or mitigation.
  • Assist in and facilitate the development, review, and modification of the County's emergency plans and its annexes.
  • Serve as primary project manager for the creation, review, exercising, and development of resources related to the County's Continuity of Operations Plan program.
  • Serve as primary project manager for the creation, review, exercising, and development of resources related to the THIRA program.
  • Contribute to pre-disaster recovery program planning and post-disaster recovery program delivery for a declared emergency or event to assist affected departments, employees, and/or citizens and coordinates damage assessments post-incident.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with preparedness and response partners internally and external to the County and with outside emergency management agencies.
  • Attend and represent the department on various committees, workgroups, and teams; cooperate with multi-jurisdictional and stakeholder coordination efforts to determine appropriate courses of emergency action, establish, or make recommendations for emergency planning guidelines, and ensure compliance with emergency management mandates.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
A. Knowledge
1. Knowledge of emergency management methods and theories, principles and practices related to Emergency Management.
2. Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations with regard to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
3. Knowledge of County departments, local agencies, state and federal agencies, and their roles and responsibilities with regard to local emergencies/disasters and delivery of services.
4. Knowledge of research methodology, statistical analysis, and survey design.
5. Knowledge of principles and practices of Federal, State, and local emergency management grant programs.
6. Knowledge of the current automated data processing hardware, software, geographic information systems, web page design, data extraction, and data analysis software. B. Skills

Thehiring range for this position is $65,232 - $88,063. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the functions of the role and successfully perform the essential duties, with three (3) years of in a similar role or performing similar duties.
  • Considerable knowledge and application of the Incident Command System (ICS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) to include successful completion of IS 100.c, IS 200.c, IS 700.b and IS 800.d is required.
  • Completion of FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS),
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current emergency management planning methodology and theory, including extensive experience in hazard mitigation and recovery programming
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of current Comprehensive Planning Guide 101 (CPG101) and Threat Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis (THIRA) theory and processes.
  • Proven success in development and/or maintenance of EOP, THIRA, COOP processes at the local, regional, state, federal, or tribal level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the concepts of the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
  • Considerable experience in management, administration, or stakeholder engagement combined with effective leadership and demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local government, and inter-agency coordination.
  • Proven project management experience including the ability to manage multiple projects effectively with demonstrated ability to plan, manage and direct multi-disciplinary, multi-agency projects in collaboration with agencies not under direct supervision.
  • Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proven effective presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and effectively interact with citizens, business-owners, local, regional, state, and federal government officials and agencies, private sector and non-profit partners to resolve conflicts and bridge gaps; lead and direct the work of others; and work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of federal/state/county laws, regulations, and ordinances related emergency preparedness and response.
  • Ability to analyze, develop and implement policies, procedures, plans and legislative actions; to plan and set objectives to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in use of WebEOC.
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Master's degree with major coursework in Emergency Management Public Policy, Public Administration or a related field and an equivalent combination of training and experience of no less than five (5) years.
  • Holder of the Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) credential from the International Association of Emergency Managers is preferred.
  • Successful completion of ICS 300 and ICS 400 is preferred.
  • Completion of ICS Position Specific course work to fill the role of Planning Section Chief with accompanied assignment and active participation on an incident management team or having the NQS Planning Skillset coursework completed is preferred.
  • Although not a disqualifier, the ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish, particularly Latin American dialects, is helpful.

  • Valid Driver's License (from any state) and good driving record required at time of application.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License required by first date of employment with good driving record.

Wieland is hiring a Data Management Specialist. The Data Management Specialist will lead the development and deployment of an Industrial connectivity/ SCADA architecture to support digital transformation across our manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making during a machining production ramp-up at our North Carolina site. Additionally, the role supports global data strategy initiatives within the Thermal Solutions business unit by collecting and organizing live data streams to support advanced analytics, performance monitoring, and other digital use cases. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Data Management Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable process data architectures that enable the collection, integration, and utilization of manufacturing equipment data.
  • Lead connectivity efforts across manufacturing equipment to enable real-time performance monitoring and data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with global IT and operations teams to integrate ERP and MES, data sources into a centralized CF IT data lake platform and build data-driven use cases.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for the transformation, and quality assurance of operational data.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations that enable operational and strategic decision-making at both local and global levels.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for industrial data integration and analytics within the Business Unit.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are upheld across all solutions.
Data Management Specialist Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts, including machine connectivity (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT), industrial automation, and smart manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in building and managing data architectures using cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Synapse) and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration tools, ETL pipelines, and industrial data historians.
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP and MES systems and their data structures.
  • Strong skills in data modeling, SQL, and scripting (e.g., Python or similar).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, especially machining or discrete production preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate across cultures in a global team setting preferred.
