Our client, a nationwide provider of high-quality food products has an immediate opening for a Engineering Project Manager, to join their winning team in Collingswood.

Our candidate of choice will manage and implement various projects related to production operations management and expansion for all US Operations. You will oversee the planning, design, and execution of assigned projects such as plant expansions, equipment installations and designs, etc., and coordinate internal and external resources and work closely with the maintenance and production departments to ensure the successful completion of various projects.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prepares and updates project engineering procedures including description of the project administration process and contract documentation guidelines.
  • Provides technical oversight and coordination of project engineering work; through project coordination meetings and other means, monitors progress against project schedules and budgets; reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications; recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals.
  • Monitors progress and performance of capital projects against capital improvement plan; evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, and schedule of the projects.
  • Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor project engineering schedules, budgets, and forecasts
  • Participates actively as a member of the plant management team; provides necessary support for other plant functions/activities as determined by manager
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date project files and drawings, and identifying and corrective safety, ergonomic and operational problems through proper design of equipment
  • Applies any environmental regulations and ensure they are respected
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets a variety of instructions, manuals, and procedures in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form
  • Demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of plants rules and regulations and encourages quality personnel performance
  • Ensure that all identified contractors are suitably pre-qualified/ assured for the delivery of the project.
  • Provide technical direction to supply chain for the negotiation of the purchase of any good and/ or services required for the delivery of the project.
  • Facilitate, and participate in the planning process and provide input for decisions effecting facility operations, maintenance and repair, and technical task/project execution.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, project management or related field required; Masters degree or MBA preferred
  • 5 years of project and/or plant engineering management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 5 years of relevant work experience; preferably in Engineering and Project Management
  • 3-5 years of Management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Food Processing, including Thermal Processes and/or sanitation
  • Experience in Automation and Controls Systems preferred
  • Ability to establish, meet deadlines and prioritize work
  • Experience in private manufacturing sector
  • Ability to initiate, compile, analyze and provide accurate reporting
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple trades to detect issues/opportunities regarding progress to schedule, workload and manpower, materials, etc. required
  • Knowledge of facility equipment, construction, automated equipment, water processing, waste management equipment, and maintenance techniques required
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement processes, such as Kaizen, 6 Sigma, etc.
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, AutoCAD, and other standard programs and systems for updating, modifying, and reporting project progress
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Strong decision making and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

COMPENSATION

Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of customer projects in the paper and packaging industry. Based in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, this role requires a dynamic individual adept at leading teams, managing resources, and delivering results in line with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in enterprise application implementation and a passion for improving operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring proactive communication of activities and milestones to all stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings and coordinate the execution of tasks following established methodologies.
- Track, resolve, and verify issues through an organized issue log, collaborating with responsible parties to ensure satisfactory resolutions.
- Prepare and deliver status reports, invoices, and forecasts while managing resource scheduling.
- Create and present proposals and presentations for internal teams and customers to support project objectives.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving customer service within the Services organization.
- Support organizational priorities such as sales cycle assistance, development of practice aids, and refinement of operating procedures.
- Mentor team members to enhance their skills and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- Maintain a utilization rate of 70% or higher by effectively managing time and resources.
- Build and lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and drive organizational success. Requirements - Extensive experience in implementing enterprise application software and managing service-oriented projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in entrepreneurial environments and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with tools such as Atlassian Jira, CRM systems, cloud technologies, and database management.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and respond promptly to customer needs.
- Self-motivated and eager to take on new challenges, with a drive for career advancement.
